Everest College is nothing but a large company taking advantage of vulnerable individuals trying to better their lives. Every statement they ever made was a complete fabrication to increase their federal funding.

The school is not recognized by any companies requiring more than a high school education. I went to Everest College in Arlington, TX for criminal justice and not one police department in the entire Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex recognizes this school as legitimate.

If you want to be a professional security guard making $10 an hour, that is fine; but to spend 2 years to earn a "degree" and be able to call it a degree is obsurd! If anyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area has gone to Everest College and feels victimized by this scam, contact attorney Brian Sherman at (((redacted))).

Sorry to Hear About Your Experience with Everest

AUTHOR: Nanlisa - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 18, 2011

Curtis: I'm so sorry to hear about your experiences at Everest. You are right about one thing: people need to do their homework and research these trade schools before they decide to plunk down their hard-earned money.

I've seen their ads on TV right here in Philadelphia, along with Sanford Brown and ITT Tech. (Sadly, Everest doesn't have any campuses here in Philadelphia.) They all tell you how you can have a "bright future" in a "career that you'll love."They don't tell you the whole story and reality of working in the medical and criminal justice fields. There is nothing glamorous and exciting about working with sick people, sticking needles in them, working at a murder or robbery scene, chasing after drug dealers, and so forth.

I can't understand why a trade school would train you for a career in criminal justice. Most jobs in that field require a four-year college degree. I don't know where future police officers go to be trained at in Dallas. But I do know that here in Philadelphia, they have to go to the Police Academy. In New York, I believe that they have to have college credits.

The sad thing is that you're probably several thousand dollars in student loan debt. They schools charge way too much money. To me, they charge the equivalent of a year's tuition at a regular college or university. You'll probably be paying that loan off for the rest of your life. And if you fall behind in your payments, bill collectors will be constantly hounding you.

It's better to go to a regular two-year college first. You can always transfer on to a four-year
college. Let's face it. Employers today want a degree and training from a recognized college or university; as well as industry-approved training.

Whatever you do, don't give up hope. Keep on keepin' on and just simply hang in there.

it is a SCAM!!!!

AUTHOR: Curtis - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, May 21, 2010

As a former victim of one of these skoolz I can assure you that it is not just your individual experience that was bad, they are ALL bad.  Just type in the name of ANY one of the MANY PRIVATE/career/trade skoolz in google and take notice of the thousands of complaints that appear.  Employers do not respect these places and WILL NOT hire you over a graduate of a REAL college or University(in most cases!) and other proper schools do not accept these crappy credits(rightfully so! the curriculum is general high-school level at BEST!)  I have sent out 300+ resumes and got not a single call from any company and have since taken everest off of my resume.(I have no criminal record, have never been fired and even put down that I would volunteer for experience without pay!!!!!!)  These schools are private and should be considered nothing more thatn a business who are out for profit.  When you choose a school , first make sure that they are publically funded.  Halfway through my program I realized that what they were teaching me was basic, common sense stuff that most people already know and I wanted to quit.  Their lies about employers coming to the school to hire grads, jobs lined up after graduation, etc. are what kept me there.  None of these things occured.  And also, who the heck were any of us to think that a 6 months, fly by night program could compete with a 4-6 year degree from a REAL university or a 2-3 year program at a College.  It even looks pathetic on a resume(6 month biz-nas diploma).  Their marketing is based on false promises and they prey on people who are weak and down on their luck.  Whiole I was at the place, they changed their name and when I finally left they changed it again.  To avoid all the heat they get from screwed over students, they change their name and start all over again.  It was even a monumental task trying to get my useless diploma from them as they claimed I still needed to complete some useless module that I already did in fact do.  All I got was wasted time and money.  Two precious things that could have been spent on MEANINGFUL, FRUITFUL endeavors.  To all consdiering....please go to a real college or university and if it means completing high-school then do so.  And most of all, DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!!
