This moving company is an extortionist scam.  They gave me a "guaranteed not to exceed" price, which was a reasonable but not cheap price to move from AZ to UT.  I signed a contract but it was not what was described in the phone conversation.  The contract was a set-up.  When the driver arrived on moving day he immediately demanded an additional $500 because he claimed that a tractor trailer could not come up the road to my house so he had to rent a 26' truck and charge me for fuel as well, which was supposedly "waived" in the contract.  He then charged me overpriced fees for additional packing.  Then, after loading 1370 cubic feet in the truck, he tries to charge me additional $990 for additional space when my contract stated I was paying for 1000 cubic feet.  Okay, this goes on and on about how bad this was.  The whole "cubic feet" thing is part of the rip off because they knew they under sold me space and then they jack it up when loading.  I did not not know it was going to be a "cubic feet" job.. Do not ever do that!  By the end of the day they were trying to charge me over $5000 to move one 26' truck from AZ to UT.  I had also contracted them to move furniture from a storage unit that was next to the house at the destination.  They were to load that furniture after unloading the truck and unload the furniture in to the house.  This is a 10x15' unit and I paid for this but they did not do it because they wanted the more money.  This is after they had charged me $4400 to move that one truck.  My quoted price for the entire move, the one truck from AZ to UT and the local storage unit in UT was $3400.  What I got was the one truck moved and delivered for $4400 and they did not do the local storage unit even though I paid for that.  So now I am stuck paying another month for the storage unit and stuck finding a way to come up with the money to get help unloading and delivery of that stuff in to the house.  If I had not fought them as much as I did on the moving day, they would have charged me around $5400!  It was extortion as I had to move out on this day and had no other options.  I have moved about 9 times in the past 8 years and never had anything like this happen. I know what it cost to move, and with good movers because I've done it so many times before.  This was a total rip off scam.   I feel like I was held up at gunpoint. .  The only thing I can say good about it was that the labor they contracted did a good a job and I feel bad that I could not tip them due to the extortion of Express Vanline.  I looked them up for reviews and now realize I was looking at reviews for "Express Moving Vanlines" who has great reviews.  Kicking myself for that!

AGREE! Alex just extorted $ from me in moving!

AUTHOR: Ellie - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 03, 2014

"Express Vanline" out of Las Vegas just totally extorted me on a move.  Alex Sadeghi, Jason Morgan and Josh __  ?  Unfortunately when I looked up reviews for the company I was looking at Express Moving Vanlines who had great reviews.  I wasn't paying enough attention.  I've moved so many times and never had a bad experience so I was not on guard enough.  They contracted good labor and I felt bad for not tipping the labor but after Alex wore me down for more more money, took hours and I had to get on the road, I had nothing left to tip on either the load or unload.  THEN, he did not finish the contracted move and left me with a storage unit full that I now have to pay for and find money to get another mover to take care of.. after I paid Alex for this, and it excess due to the extortion tactics.  I would join a suit for sure!  There are many complaints I'm now finding and it should be done.
