Hello my fellow victims, I too received a past due notice and a late fee for $35.00 even though I sent my payment in 10 days before the due date. I sent my payment in on June 16th, it was due on the 26th. I checked their automated service and found that my payment was posted on the 27th and the check was not presented to my bank until July 10.

After extensive research, I found this website and thankfully I finally found a number where I could actually speak to a human. I called this number (516-576-0404) and spoke to a woman who said her name was Ann Johnson. I don't know whether or not that was her real name but this is what she had to say: She told me that due to the fact that FCNB was bankrupt, another company had taken over and the payments for the month of June had been delayed and that the past due notices and late fees were erroneous. She said that my payment had been received and that I would not have to pay the late fee. She also went on to say that my June payment was credited toward my July payment, at which point I said "HUH??"

Since when does a credit card company let you have a free month??Needless to say, alarm bells went off in my head immediately!! I asked why I had not received a statement for the month of July and when I would be reciving one; she informed me that I would get a statement sometime at the end of August, that there would be no late fees attached and that I would be able to continue making my monthly payments at the same amount I have been paying thus far. I sent a letter to the BBB, though I fear they won't do much about this. I guess the only thing left to do is wait and see if they come through as I was told they would. I will report back to this site as soon as any new information comes my way.

If my suspicions are correct and the woman on the phone lied, then I expect another nasty letter in the mail at some time in the near future. If this comes to pass, I think that we need to do more than just file a lawsuit. I say we take it to the media baby!! Power of bad press!! My local newschannel is always looking for new stories about victims of fradulent practices, I won't stop there either..I'll put together a petition, write the New York Times and any and all media I can possibly get to listen to me. I am fortunate to have many friends in the media who would be happy to assist me in this matter.

Hopefully, none of this will be necessary...but if it is...I'll be counting on the rest of you to stand up and scream your little heads off too, cause I'm declaring WAR!
