I have a simple unlimited pay as you go broadband internet service through Cricket Wireless.  I never ordered an extended service contract or anything like that through them at all.  I have been using the service for months.

Then all of a sudden I get this bill in the mail from Federal Warranty Service Corporation (Assurant Solutions) for an extended warranty service that I never ordered.

It's only $5 per month, but it's the principle of the matter for me.  I never ordered it!  I don't want it!

Now remember, this notice did NOT come from Cricket Wireless, and I have checked my Cricket Wireless account online, and there is no mention of this extended service contract anywhere in my account information.

This came came directly from Federal Warranty Service Corporation, P.O. Box 105689, Atlanta, GA 30348-5689.

And on their extended service contract it lists this website... www.assurantsolutions.com for me to go to if I have any problems.

Well, I went there immediately, and clicked on their contact menu and I sent them a secure email with my name, address, and service agreement number, asking them to cancel my extended service contract.

That's when Crystal Maynard emailed me and said that they could not cancel my policy.

Ummmm, Hello?  Your company issued the policy to me.  It came in the mail to me from your company.  You can't cancel it?   What you really mean is that you don't want to cancel it.

On page 2 of the contract it says, and I quote:  "Cancellation of Certificates:  The certificate holder may cancel this certificate by mailing or delivering to us advance written notice of cancellation.  If the certificateholder notifies us within the first thirty days from the effective date shown on the Declarations Page and no claims have been filed, we will cancel the certificate as the effective date and we will refund the premium paid to the Group Policyholder."

So, I can see what they are doing.  They are trying to make me wait until it is too late to cancel it with the first 30 days, so they get their $5 payment.  They are giving me the run around until it is too late to cancel.

So, I sent them a cancellation notice in the mail.  Watch them now somehow claim the cancellation notice got lost in the mail and they can't find it.  This is a corrupt company.

Also, notice that Crystal didn't care at all that I never ordered this extended service contract.  There is some kind of fraud going on, and she doesn't care.

So much for customer service!

I wouldn't trust this company to provide any kind of warranty coverage for me after the way they treated me as a supposed customer trying to cancel their extended service plan.
