Do not use First American Home Buyers Protection.  They send out incompetent service personnel.  We went six days without hot water because they first sent an unqualified plumbing technician, then sent an unqualified electrician, then another plumbing technician, each throwing the problem back and forth. 

They installed a defective water heater then claimed it was an electrical problem, the electrician claimed it was a plumbing problem, and First American just wanted to send more people out, all during the week - expecting someone to stay at home and wait.  When escalated to supervisors at First American they said there was nothing they could do about it, were very rude, and when asked to speak to another supervisors they disconnected me.

 I had to have my own plumber install a new water and First American said they would not reimburse me.

The company will take so long to provide a service that customers are forced to pay to repair the necessary item, (like a refrigerator), themselves. After weeks of waiting, we bought a new refrigerator ourselves…and stove…and dishwasher. Now our HVAC unit is out and they won’t even file a claim unless we pay $75 before we even know when the technician will come to assess the unit. It could be MONTHS, and we live in the subtropics of the Deep South. I told the, supervisor,” I would pay when a service technician actually arrives, but I will not pay before I am even told who or when it will be. They force customers to pay a copay just to file a claim. I’ve paid them over $7000 in the last eleven years, and we’ve paid the $75 copay several times before for other covered items that failed to work properly, and we never had anything repaired or replaced by this Home Warranty company. This is extremely unethical business practice. Lawsuits have been filed against them - they can be found easily by searching the internet . The, supervisor,” refused to let me speak to her superior, and refused to tell me who else I needed to call in order to make this right. She repeated herself over and over again, with the same sentence. I have never heard of this customer service approach, and find it to be unethical in the least. This company never intends to repair or replace anything they say they cover when they accept your money for the coverage. Santa Rosa CA

First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation Dishonest, Customer's issue or problem is irrelevant,Request for a supervisor/manager you will not get one,Hidden deals between contractor and First American, Non covered charges are hidden First American will not inform you about the non coverage, the contractor informs you of the non covered items, Employ 2nd english speaking reps so you the consumer cannot understand whats being said and the reps are rude,do not cross the reps or your claim will not go through, buyer beware on big ticket items, Santa Rosa California

FIRST AMERICAN HOME BUYERS PROTECTION called to make claim regarding refrigerator not cooling, was informed frige not covered in home warranty. Seller paid 395.00 for SINGLE FAMILY HOME COVERAGE. first american home buyers protection corp. CMS Garage Door's INC.(925) 864-3033 The Garage door cables & spring broke. There was no why to open the door with or with out the dore opener . our auto,s traped in there. at 4:30 pm. I called first American Proction for some one to come out to repair or fix. I had a hard time explaining what the problem was to there agent. they had no understanding of what the component of this item. I repeat specifically what was wrong & the need to have it repaired with in 24 hr. .there only option was for me to wait for two (2) days . The Contractor they had contact us( C.M.S Garage Door,s INC.) contact us and told use that we need to call the insurance agent to have them contact some other company. Plus that the Items that need replacement was not under the home warranty. Van Nuys California
