I received a call at 5:20 A.M. PST. The caller ID said "unavailable". The caller with a thick accent (possibly Hindi) told me I had been chosen at random to receive a government grant for $12,500.00. Red flags went up in my mind immediately, I decided to let the "fish run" and asked a few questions.

The caller said his name was Josh Thomas, he sounded like he was in a boiler room making cold calls. There were a lot of background callers and he didn't know my name. He claimed he was calling for "Becky" and repeated my number and asked me to confirm. I told him that he had been given the wrong number and he asked me for my name and insisted that he would give me the grant to spend anyway I like to "improve my life" and it didn't matter if I was "Becky" or not. He got agitated when I asked him if he was calling from India and got very defensive and told me he had no accent and he was in Florida. It bothered him that I didn't seem to care about the money and I was interested in calling him back and checking out more information about him and asked him for a website. He gave me a fake web address and probably a fake phone number. I never bothered to call. I googled the address and found this site.

Don't believe any of it, if it sounds too good to be true...it is. If they call me again I plan to tell them that I just won the lottery and would donate a million dollars to their cause if they give me their physical address, lawyers contact number and bank account information. All I can do is waste their time but maybe I can make them screw up with their greed and shut them down.

Anyway don't fall for it and let others know about this.
