fox haven farms located in monee il not the one  in tinley park il the farm in monee il run by tonya lake i called the owner tonya lake who had a horse for sale via a web site and explained that i was looking for a horse for my child and i to get into riding horses i explained that we needed a very calm and well broke horse since this is our first horse she said she had one that was perfect knowing that we where not horse people and we needed a starter horse

ay first she said we only had to give a $200 depoist for a horse named chuck but once the time came she said she needed $1000 which was fine cause we agreed on a 30 day trail period to return the horse and the deposit if the horse didnt work out for us    we had a trainer at our boarding barn which has been riding and training for 20 years and the first week she stated the horse was not trained nor had any ground manners and was not a horse worth buying

so i called tanya and asked her about what training he had and she said to give him a few weeks to get used to our barn and i said ok after another week or so the horse became worse with biting rearing and kicking once again i asked tanya to switch to another horse she had and she said just give it time   the next week she called demanding to pay the rest of the money for the horse i aksed for a few more weeks due to the horse being untrained too see if the horse would change but she said no she needed cash now so i said to take the horse back asap

it took 2 days for her to come get the horse and people at the barn said she had a hard time even getting the horse into the trailer the next day i called for the return of my $1000 and she said she didnt have it to give her a week or so so i did after10 days i called and texted her about the return and she became hostile complaining about money troubles and began to avoid my calls i didnt want to take court action but it turns out i have too all i wanted was a nice calm horse for me and my child now im out $1000 bucks till a setlle this in court

Sold a horse they did not own

AUTHOR: Juli - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, February 22, 2016

I met Tanya and she seemed a decent person.  The farms around her though did not have anything nice to say.  She was looking for a lower level event horse to lease for her daughter.  I let her lease my horse, Gueten Morgen.  I still have his papers as he was NOT sold to her.  Three years ago she sold him.  He has a good home now, but just a few weeks ago she sent me an update on how well he was doing.  She is a liar. She had no right to sell a horse that was not hers.  She had an opportunity to buy him, but never did.  She used a picture of MY son riding him in competition as her sald pic.  She told the buyer that the horse was imported and that not much was known about his past.  The new owner just contacted me via FaceBook.  This lady is a scammer.
