I purchased a 30 day period free trail used unit with the promise from Freedom Pop that these items are reregisterable with owner notification. Such has not been the case and I have documentation that two customer service tech represenatives emailed a verification that they had initiated and completed the necessary work to completion so that I could reregiterd and that all is well.

They did NOTHING! The issue remains. I received my money back from the seller and this company is completely bogus in my opinion. Read other Ripoff Reports B4 U Buy or Hand Out Your Credit Info. If You Dont Buy The Unit From Them- Good Luck!!! What a Shame! I Hope An Honest Entrepenereul Comes into existence to replace Dum Pop!

Users Notified on Data Usage

AUTHOR: FreedomPop - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 20, 2013

David,

All FreedomPop users are able to track their data usage from the online account. Once a user has exceeded the data limit, they are sent an email notification informing them that they have been topped-up into our pay-as-you-go data plan. Users may also disbale this automatic top-up so that their device deactivates instead of switches to the pay-as-you-go plan. Furthermore, users may opt in to our Usage Alerts Service which will actively send them noticies of their data usage even before they reach the limit.

In addition to being able to track data usage on their accounts, users can also track any and all billing issues. If Mr. Shakir told you anything different than that, then he was continuing to relay incorrect information to you. All of this information is available on our website. Once again, we apologize if the eBay seller provided incorrect information for you to purchase a non-functioning device from him.

Freedom ,Sucker, Pop Takes To The Cleaners

AUTHOR: Freedom Pop Sucker Pop - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 17, 2013

Please spare me your long explanation - you do not need to explain or justify your dishonest practices to me; as there are multiple verifications of your dishonesty amd evident on this site and on other verifiable consumer advocate organization sites. When an unsuspecting "virgin" buyer purchases a device from you they don't realize they are about to be "screwed" by over-the limit fees which you never notify your customers of.

They are never notified are accumulating as they are happily using the internet.

As you did with Mr. Shamir; they are shocked when they discover on their monthly statements of $90.00 which they were never notified had accumulated as there was no notification given.

ANY Legitimate Communications company will notify their consumers when they are about to or have begun accumulating additional fees beyond their plan or initial agreement.

So the "Big Bucks" go into Mr. Freedom Pop's pockets and Mr. Sucker Pop is screwed. It is a very Sneaky and Calculating means of doing business, Mr. Slick.

Feel Free to Investigate Sucker Pops on this site or any consumer advocate organization's watch list.

Thank You Mr. Shamir for taking a stand and REFUSING to PAY the $90.00 "free" fees charged to your account and for stopping me from signing up with this dishonest policy which will screw you over when you read the bill you never knew you had!

Thanks For Wasting Both Mr. Shamir's & My Time With Your Unethical Policies & Procedures!

eBay Seller Was Incorrect

AUTHOR: FreedomPop - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, May 15, 2013

David,

As we mentioned to you in your email to us, the FreedomPop Bolt device that you purchased from Abdul Shakir was a frozen device due to that user's outstanding problems and was thus unable to be reregistered with anyone else until Mr. Shakir resolved his issues with his account. This was told to Mr. Shakir on multiple occassions. If he told you any differently, and if he ever said that the device would be able to be unregistered from his account so that someone else such as yourself could register, he was incorrect. You provided some transcripts of your conversations through eBay with Mr. Shakir where he indicated that FreedomPop had informed him that his device was able to be transfered; this was false. I will share with you our correspondence with Mr. Shakir:

APRIL 08
Mr. Shakir calls FreedomPop and asks to be downgraded from his 2GB Plan, of which he had a one-month free trial, to our free 500MB plan. FreedomPop Support Agent James downgrades the data plan at Mr. Shakir's request.

MAY 07
Mr. Shakir contacts FreedomPop requesting a cancellation of his account. FreedomPop Support Agent Jason responds that he has outstanding charges preventing us from cancelling the account in full; as a result of downgrading his data plan, Mr. Shakir did not have as much data as he previously did and went several gigabytes over his 500MB allotment.

MAY 10
Mr. Shakir makes his first reference towards clearing his account and unassigning the device so that another person can use it. "Bottom line, at the least your company could do is clear my account and release the device to be used by another owner." As we had no way to hold Mr. Shakir accountable for his outstanding balance, FreedomPop Support Agent Jason cancelled his service and deactivated his account, but never released the device for registration or informed Mr. Shakir that the device could be registered to anyone else.

MAY 13
In response to another request from Mr. Shakir, FreedomPop Support Agent Samantha informed him: "Unfortunately, at this time due to the outstanding balance we cannot activate your device for you or for another user. If you would like to get this device activated, we'd be happy to refund you half the charges, but they do need to be paid and cleared before we can get you back online."

During this time, our Social Media Team on Twitter @FreedomPop4G was communicating with Mr. Shakir's @BlacMas where we informed him that if he did "not wish to pay your balance, then we will deactivate your device and acct." As this is what Mr. Shakir chose, then his device was deactivated and cannot be reactivated until Mr. Shakir has settled his affairs with FreedomPop. If he told you otherwise on eBay, then it was incorrect and we apologize for any inconvenience that Mr. Shakir has caused you.

FreedomPop is committed to providing free internet access to all and working constantly towards disrupting the entire data industry. Occasionally, some people will try to abuse our system and so protections are put in place to keep both FreedomPop and our users safe from such abuse. This is why the Bolt that you received from Mr. Shakir cannot work for you. However, David, we would be happy to follow-up with you in your ticket with us and see about getting you taken care of with a different device. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience that this eBay seller may have caused you and are happy to work with you to come to a resolution. Thank you for your patience and support.
