Furry Dream Cattery in Brooklyn New York sold to my family a kitten who was sick with Feline panleukopenia virus (FPV). Our beloved kitten named Funky was put to sleep at just 16 weeks. The hospital where we had our Funky on supportive care did everything they could, we asked for the most aggressive treatment possible however, his immune system was to weak and he was to young to fight off this terrible disease.
The hospital report confirmed that Funky was born with panleukopenia and was sold to us as an already sick kitten. He was temporarily protected until 16 weeks by the milk produced by his mother. At 16 weeks when the temporary protection expired within 24 hours our Funky was gone.
Furry Dream Cattery was aware that our kitten was sick. We were in contact with them often. Irina the owner discouraged us from visiting the vet a number of times saying that "vet's don't know what they are doing". The cattery made no apology to our family on the loss of our kitten  and of-course not even an suggestion of a replacement with a healthy kitten. We begged Irina to have all of her cats screened for this virus so that other families would not go through what we are going through right now however Irina refused to screen her cats saying " it is not possible for them to be sick".
Funky was my parents first pet, he was treated like a baby and because of the unethical practices by the owners of Furry Dream, my parents feel as if they lost a child.
Please do not purchase any of your cats from this cattery, they are unethical, inhumane and only care about the $.
Please contact me with any questions, I will be happy to share with you all the medical reports.

I, the owner of the Cattery "Furry Dream", am reporting that the site Ripoff Report: # 97472 has an invalid article about my cattery that I learned about recently. The only reason I have not written against him at once... is that I am deeply sorry about the death of this kitten. I am also very sorry for your parents, and that they had to endure the pain of losing a beloved pet. I expressed my sincere condolences to you and your parents when the kitten was in the hospital and the day of his death. Even when the kitten just got to the hospital, I asked them to pick up the kitten from there and bring it back to me. Naturally, I could not give any guarantee that I will be able to save him, but I promised your parents do everything in my power to save him. However, they decided to leave him in the hospital, but the fact that he died is not my fault. I am also very sorry for the pain your parents have, which gave you a reason to publish on the website Ripoff Report notes which has not a single word of truth. Besides that, the fact is that you have bought a kitten in my cattery and he died 20 weeks after.

Now I want to write the truth to those who will read this Report. I want to report that your parents filed to court against me and my nursery to complain that I sold a sick kitten, and as a result they demanded a compensation of $5,000. At February 7, 2013 the judge ruled that there is no fault of mine that the kitten died and that I am not resposible for its death. Civil Court of the City of New York Couny of Ricmond Idex Number SCR1336/2012 Dicision: Judgment Award Amount $ 0

In addition, when your parents have filed an action against me, I called in the NY Department of Agriculture & Marrets and told him the whole story. I have been directed to a commission, which determined that my nursery is in excellent condition and CFA appreciates my nursery to a score of excellents.

The Feline panleukopenia virus, which is claimed to have infected a kitten of your parents, is mainly spread through feces, after vomiting, or a the bite of a flea. The incubation period is 2 to 10 days, and after 10 days, the kitten either die or recovers. There is no immunity of which you write that could have helped the kitten. I hope that everyone will understand that the kitten was sick at birth, and if he was not to be able to survive 20 weeks, he would have died either instantly or in a 10-15 day period. In the report, you did not write that 12 days before the kitten got sick he was taken to the vet to get vaccininated. We do not know what they injected him with, what virus the vaccination is for, but the fact is that he was dead after 12 days. Now we can only guess about the actual reason of his illness.

You also did not write that this is not the first cat that you have bought. First kitten you have bought is on June 2010. You've been very happy with the kitten, and for this reason, in April 2011, you bought another kitten for parents, but after 2 days you returned the kitten back, because your father is allergic to cats. Even though I saw that he does not have allergies, I took the kitten back and returned the money. In June 2012, you went back for the third time to purchase another kitten. You reserved a kitten as a gift to your father at which time the kitten was only 3 weeks old. Until the time you are allowed take it home, at which the kitten was 8 weeks old, your parents came to us many times and watched the kitten as he grew and developed.

I really sympathize with you and your parents for the misfortune that befell them, but I am not guilty in this. I'm also very concerned at the news that the kitten that was bought in my cattery died. For me, every kitten who was born and grew up in my arms, it's a small piece of my heart.

If anyone has any questions or wish to see the documents to prove my words, please contact me, all the information about my kennel Furry Dream is at the top of the report.
