I was looking for a legitimate work-at-home business to become involved with, and became uneasy with the upfront costs of becoming involved in those "jobs".  My husband advised me to look on Clark Howard's website for advice about this, because he has listened to him on the radio for many years and knows his advice to be pretty trustworthy.  I did as he suggested and found a link to Global Pro Systems at the top of the website.

I was excited to see that it would only cost me $9.95 shipping costs to get a "14 day free review" of GPS materials, so provided my credit card info and anxiously waited for my materials to come in the mail.  They did!  By FEDEX, overnight even!  I was initially impressed..such efficiency.  But the materials, which I immediately opened and viewed, failed to communicate any real specifics about how to start a business, what products one might be selling, or anything really besides a lot of hype about all the money (tens of thousands) the others involved were making.

I became a little suspicious at this point and went online to research GPS (aka Vemma) and found literally hundreds of warnings that this company, once it had obtained your credit card information, would rapidly begin to make unauthorized charges for not only the materials packet, even if you promptly returned it) and other umwanted products.  Many disillusioned people ended up canceling their credit cards or fighting unauthorized charges, usually without success.  I was now very apprehensive.

I immediately contacted my representative, Jackie Barnes, to inquire how I might disengage myself from this without incurring any extra fees.  She seemed put out that I would so quickly dismiss this "great income opportunity", but she assured me that I would receive Return Instructions for my packet of materials.  I took the entire package, mailed it Priority Mail AND Return Receipt Requested, at a cost of almost $12.00.  My materials were mailed to me on November 4th, and signed for in the Omaha headquarters 4 days later, on November 8th.  I also took an HD photo of my outgoing mail at the Postmaster's Office just as additional proof that I'd followed Return Instructions to the letter.

Although my bank, when I contacted them, advised me to CANCEL my credit card anyway, just in case there was some kind of fraud involved, I hesitated.  Christmas was coming, I needed to make a few online purchases of gifts for my kids, and I also had to travel in a few days' time and rent a car.  This involved my only credit card, and a replacement would take 2-3 weeks to have a new card issued and PIN numbers mailed, etc.  I really didn't have 2-3 weeks to be without my only source of credit.  So I took a chance that Global Pro would honor their return policy, which I had quickly and clearly followed.  Boy, am I ever sorry.  That $39.95 charge for unreturned materials (which is scarcely explained in the first place) was just charged to my card and now a planned purchase for a 10 year old's Christmas gift is denied!  I am out almost $62 and must go to all the trouble to cancel this card immediately at a hectic time of year when I need it.  Don't fall for this huge scam!!  Shame on Clark for letting such ripoff artists recruit business using his name and website.  Never again!
