This company, runs it's operation out of hotel lobbys and hotel conference rooms for the most part. They do have a head office in West Palm. They sell vacation club memberships to the public, and have a full-time, mandatory schedule for their sales reps, without any salary whatsoever. They are promised a guaranteed wage, to get them to come to work, and then they are told that they will receive commissions if they exceed the wage. They are paid neither. The average sale is for $5000 and the average commission is $40. This is unheard of in the travel business, and to top it off, they are sent home week after week, without any paycheck or stub. There is no proof given of any of their sales written, and they have no record of their sales on their occasional stubs.

They move from location to location, and the owner's name is Matthew Inman. Do not buy from this place. They lie to their staff, and they lie to the client and promise that if they do business, Global will sell their timeshare for them, in a week.

Consumer & Employee Update

AUTHOR: PHOTO4 - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, September 28, 2009

The product is 100% legitimate. I've been a member of this company for over 9 years and have taken over a dozen vacations with the network. I've also been an employee for over 4 years. Here are both sides of the story, consumer and employee. As a Global member, the benefits are great. As an employee I'm paid very well. Keep reading to find out more accurate information for those who want the truth about Global Connections, Inc., a leader in the travel club industry. Global Connections, Inc. (GCI) headquartered in Overland Park, KS., has nearly 30 distributing offices throughout the country including Global Vacation Network (GVN) and Global Discovery Vacation (GDV). GCI is not a timeshare, but a licensed and bonded Full Service Travel Agency that owns a large number of its own properties. GCI is a member in good standing with the following industry agencies: VRMA (Vacation Rental Management Association), ARDA (American Resorts and Development Association), CARE (Cooperative Assocation of Resort Exchange), CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association), ARC (Airline Report Corporation) just to name a few. For more information, check out their new web page: https://www.globaldiscoveryvacations.com/tLogin.aspx

GCI is a great company, but not a perfect company. Companies are not perfect because people are not perfect and companies are comprised of the people who run them. A recent article in Resort Trades magazine reported "50% of respondents said they had no preference between a legacy and low-fair air carrier. Consumers care more about the price of the air ticket than the carrier. Translate this to the timeshare industry and it becomes obvious that price is what matters. If a consumer can purchase a timeshare from the developer for $20,000 or a similar product on the resale market for $5000 or $6,000... Why wouldn't they?" This is the Global way. As a consumer, my wife and I paid around $5,000 for a lifetime membership. As a consumer, we are 97% completely satisfied. Our last vacation was to Panama City Beach, FL where we stayed at the beautiful Wyndham Emerald Beach Resort & Spa in a 2 bdrm / 2 bath ocean front condo. Follow the link to see our accommodations: http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/PFNHT/main.wnt?cha=

Our total cost for 8 day/7 night stay was less than $100 for the entire week. We pay a nominal, "optional" renewal fee once a year that entitles us to a set number of weeks of vacation at less than $100 each. We spent our 5th anniversary in December 2008 at Globals exclusively owned White Oaks Resort & Lodge in Gatlinburg, TN where we stayed in a two bedroom state of the art cabin. The follow link gives you a video presentation of the resort. http://www.whiteoaklodgeandresort.com/great-taste-video.asp

Do the math and you'll quickly recognize Global Connections, Inc. is a great vacation investment.

I'm both a member and an employee of this company.  As a member the Global memberships are great.  As an employee I get paid very well.  Here is some accurate information those who want the truth about Global Vacation Network, Global Discovery Vacations: Distributors of Global Connections, Inc. (The parent company) they own the properties and the service.
Global Connections, Inc. is the parent company of Global Vacation Network, Global Discovery Vacation.  GVN, GDV are distributors for Global Connections, Inc.
Global is a great company, but not a perfect company. Legitimate? Yes, 100% Columbus, Ohio I've been a member of this company for over 9 years now and have taken over a dozen vacations with their network. I have also been an employee for over 4 years now. So I've used their product longer than I've been an employee. Here are both sides of the story, consumer and employee. Companies are not perfect because people are not perfect and companies are comprised of the people that run them.
Global Connections, Inc. is the fulfillment company head quartered out of Overland Park, KS. GVN (Global Vacation Network) and GDV (Global Discovery Vacations) are distributors of the product. They have about 30 different distributing offices throughout the country. An article in a recent Resort Trades magazine showed 50% of respondents said they had no preference between a legacy and low-fair air carrier. Consumers care more about the price of the air ticket than the carrier. Translate this to the timeshare industry and it becomes obvious that price is what matters. We pay $389 as a renewal fee once a year. That gets us five weeks of vacation annually at $96 per week stay. You might say how can they do that? Well Global has approximately 150,000 members that pay $389 once a year. 150,000 x $389 = $58,500,000 annually. Thats just in renewal fees and doesn't count the average upfront cost of $5,000 to $6,000 that gets you the lifetime vacation membership. We spent our 5th year anniversary on December 19, 2008 at Globals exclusively owned White Oaks Resort & Lodge in Gatlinburg, TN where we stayed in a two bedroom state of the art cabin.

Do the math and you'll quickly recognize Global is a great vacation investment. Now here is our testimony: We booked six resort condos last year, two ocean front resort condos in Kauai, HI, one 2-BR ocean front resort condo in Panama City Beach, FL, one 2BR resort cabin in Gatlinburg, TN and two water front resort condos in Port Clinton, OH. Our total accommodation cost was $965 all taxes and fees included! Thats less than $160 per resort stay.
