I live in California, and bought this vehicle from Grant Culver Cars who is located in Oregon. The transaction was all done online through emails and phone calls. I purchased this vehicle in March of 2012. I initally spoke to Kolby (a salesman) who was very nice and went above and beyond to help me. I had some friends look at the vehicle who live in Portland and they had sent pictures of the seats which had holes in them and after speaking with the owner, Chris Culver, he told me they were spots when they were actual holes. They really weren't willing to come down on the price, so I had requested they replace the fabric.

That took an additional 2 weeks, which was fine but when they put the vehicle on the truck to be shipped to me, I thought from what they had told me, I was getting a pristine vehicle from their dealership. When the vehicle first arrived, I noticed a few things wrong. First of all the seatbelt receiver was crushed; it looked like someone had taken a hammer to it; I was unable to wear a seatbelt because of this. The steering was completely off, it was as if the steering wheel was loose. I called Chris right away and told him what I had found. He blamed the upholstry shop for breaking the seat belt receiver but that he would pay to have it replaced which he did.

Upon driving this vehicle for about a week, I noticed that I did not have a horn. I finally took it to a certified dealership here where I live and had a complete inspection done. Grant Culver Cars sold me a vehicle that does not have a working operational horn; this is a liability. I still do not have a horn in my vehicle. It will cost me around $300.00 to have this fixed; I cannot afford this. I have a papertrail of emails showing that Chris Culver said he would pay for it. He did not. When I received the vehicle, the change oil light came on within 2 days of having this car. Grant Culver Cars told me (I have every single email transaction) that all of their vehicles get serviced before selling to the customer.

This was a lie. The dealership showed me what they found. An empty coolant reservior and there was no fluid in the power steering reservior. Grant Culver told me that I would be impressed with the condition of the car. I was not. Since I had purchased the car in 2012, I have had to get it towed to the dealership (I have pictures of the vehicle on a tow truck) because it did not start, to date, I have paid over $2,000.00 dollars on this vehicle to get numerous things fixed on it when Chris Culver said he would help me out and get it fixed for me.

They gave me a 30 day guarantee when I bought the car that if anything were to go wrong with the vehicle they would pay for it. This was absolutely false. The car also had a broken and completely damaged license plate holder; it would not hold the license plate on so for me to replace this cost me $60.00. I had a car which they took in and sold. I am still getting letters from the DMV to register the car. They had sold my car but for some reason it hasn't been registered. Still to this day they ignore my phone calls and emails. They will not respond to any of my requests. As I stated, I have every email transaction and all of the invoices from the certified dealership where I got the vehicle inspected.

All of the things they found wrong that I could afford to fix because if I hadn't the car would be sitting....The tires were severely off balance. I could go on and on. I still to this day do not have a horn. I can't tell you how many close calls I've had because I've been cut off and not had a warning to give by not having an operational horn in the vehicle Grant Culver Cars sold me. I was lied to, and scammed by this company. I am also in the military and they said we respect and care about our troops. Obviously not. They have not returned any phone calls or emails I've sent since this has all transpired. This tells me they knew they sold me a faulty vehicle with numerous operational issues. The list of problems with this car Grant Culver Cars sold me goes on and on.

Don't Trip Over Your Tongue!

Despite the fact, which just about everybody knows, buying a used car is a risky proposition, you take it to the extreme.  You just had to have THAT car!  Your tongue was hanging out so much for THAT car, you threw common sense out the window!  You had a friend look at the car and send you pictures.  Your friend did an excellent job pointing out HOLES in the seats of this wreck.  The seller tells you a bold faced lie by claiming they weren't holes, they were just "spots".  What did you do?  You just had to have THAT car so much, your intoxication caused you to continue to move forward with this STUPID deal despite the FACT the seller was LYING TO YOU and you knew it!  Incredible!  Anyone who would throw common sense out the window and buy some used car they never saw, never test drove, never tried ALL the accessories and never checked for cosmetics needs to have their head examined!

Based on Grant Culver Cars website, and I quote what is stated: " Once we select a vehicle, we send it to our mechanic where it receives a thorough inspection of fluids and mechanical parts." As I stated, these are false claims that they put on their website.
