i worked for them about a couple of years ago. i thought that it was a great company and i had not really worked for a hotel yet so i was excited to get a head start. right off the bat, i was hired without too many questions. I was excited and was ready to start work. there was a really fat and disgusting girl by the name of monica willis that worked there. she made things extremely hard for me and this other girl that worked there. next thing i knew, the other girl was fired over something monica wrongfully accused her for. but for me, i continued to work there. the manager katie and general manager terri pretended to be really understanding people, especially when there were issues of not being able to come into work and people taking off. i never took off any day because i really wanted the experience. a couple of months later, i had an interview with another bigger and nicer hotel that were willing to hire me based on my IT experience. I quickly asked Terry Elfner, this awful disgusting lady, for the day off. she kept questioning me why. I was told not to say when you have another interview for a different company. so, i told her for personal reasons and i figured 2 weeks should be enough time. after my interview, i came back and terry told me it would be better if i concentrated on my work instead of taking off all the time! i really hope terry elfner is dead or atleast retired by now. she is such an awful person! i went to katie, the other really fat and smoke filled manager (she smoked literally a pack a day) and she said there was nothing she could do about terry's behavior and that i should concentrate on the job. after that, people were being really weird to me, i finally gave in my two weeks. the kicker of the story, i never received my last paycheck!! i thought that the one person that never received her last paycheck was just exaggerating because terry had said that if the girl comes back to get her paycheck, tell her she's not getting it and if she has issues, she can take it up with management. So, remembering that, i was so taken back because it was happening to me! when i asked terry, that devil, where my paycheck was, she said she overpaid me last time and that i won't get it this time. i am so upset and tired of this company. i feel so awful for blaming the previous employees and saying that they probably did something wrong. They didn't do anything wrong, it's the management. this company is in serious need of an ethical and moral check. they are liars, backstabbers, and they play dirty alot. they lie to customers about certain things to save money, and they put expired things out for customers (i know, i worked breakfast). they put employees against each other instead of helping them work together, and they make rumors about employees that quit or are fired for no reason. they played really dirty with me and others and i do hope that no one stays here or works here. please send new management to this hotel! as a good christian, i only want best for others, so please send good new management to this hotel. and also, fire terry elfner. she is a horrible person that plays dirty and gives the good name of holiday inn express a bad reputation. lastly, fire monica willis. she is an ugly, disgusting person that deserves the worst of the worst punishments. she is manipulative and constantly lies about things. she lied about this one girl and another guy that worked there and lied that i used to steal towels! why would i do that? she is never going to get anywhere in life, guaranteed and will probably become lonely, pregnant, and working fast food for the rest of her life.  btw,  i want my paycheck! i have kids and a hubby to support and this is not ethical. how do you over pay someone? just doesn't happen!

First of all, I am Monica Willis and I worked at the Holiday Inn Express- York, Pa for 5 years. While working here I only had problems with one employee in which I am pretty positive wrote this report. I dont know anyone named Monique and nobody by that name ever worked there so if you are so sure about everything that was said why not state your real name. I dont know anything about anyone ever stealing towels but I wouldnt be surprised with this girl. To set the record straight, this employee stole money from the company which inadvertantly came back onto everyone working that shift.

This not only happened once but a couple times. 20$, 10$, whatever. In all my time working there I had NEVER had a short drawer. A couple weeks after this had happened all of a sudden my money was stolen out of my wallet. Considering we were the only ones working in the whole hotel at the time, I was pretty sure a ghost had not stolen my money, so yes I asked her about it and of course she had no idea what I was talking about. It was a fair amount, so I threatened to call the police. All of a sudden her parents came in and gave me the money because they didnt want there daughter involved with the police. FUNNY.

Then not long after this incident, maybe a week later I discovered my bank card had been stolen and was being used for online purchases. Not only did this "idiot" steal my bank card and make purchases she put HER name on the deliveries and HER address and still continued to lie about it. So YES, I did get the police involved because with any credit card theft, you have to in order for them to look into it. Needless to say she was fired right after this incident. Needless to say this girl would call my phone begging for forgiveness and told me her cousin took my card. Hmmm, funny how my purse was in the back room in the managers office and her cousin should have NEVER been back there. Clearly she is a liar.

So in my defense, I trained several people at the Holiday Inn Express- York, and never had any problem until this minipulative little liar came along. Terri was extremely nice and easy to work for. Very understanding of any problems but also very proffesional. Katie as well was a good manager, and was pretty easy to get along with. This hotel was taken over by new ownership and none of these people were there anymore because everyone moved on to bigger and better things. I am successful in what I do, and only a nasty deceitful person would write the things you have above.

I worked at a Holiday Inn Express, which will be remain anonymous & they did the same thing. Management played favorites & would spread rumors, along with a select few "favorites" about people that quit or got fired. I would hear first hand from the assistant gm about when someone put in their 2 weeks, they were immediately let go. Their services were no longer needed. The gm was cold & her main focus was giving negative feedback to all her employees. They expected perfection from everyone & when I gave my 2 weeks, I was immediately told that I didn't need to come in anymore. The rest of my shifts had been covered & I would only get paid up until the day I put in my 2 weeks. It didn't surprise me but I think that Holiday Inn Express really needs to pay attention to who they have managing their hotels.
