Home Safe America is in the Mortgage Loan Modification business. I needed to have my monthly premium reduced vs. selling or Fore-Closing on my House. I went with Home Safe after e-mails and phones calls. The problem was they demanded that I send them $2,000.00 before they would be able to start helping me. I resisted at first however I had faith in them that they could produce the results, I was looking for...WRONG...This all started back in Jan. of this year (2010), so after 6+ months I am still waiting on results. Home Safe America has my $2,000.00 and I have nothing...Sounds like a "SCAM" to me. Their contract claims they would assist me in getting my loan reduced from 5.75% to possible 2.50%, which sounded great to me.

I sent them the $2,000.00 in Jan. 2010, along with about 20 pages of information on me, and they claimed they would do the rest. All they have done is sent my Mortgage Lender the 20 + pages of information that I sent them and they have called them twice, stated only that my Lender had received all information necessary, NOTHING ELSE.

I have send several e-mails to them expressing my dissatisfaction with Home Safe America and have now requested that they refund my $2,000.00 due to the fact they have not been able to. I am reporting this Company to everyone who will listen as I believe that I have been "RIPPED OFF' by them and I certainly don`t want another customer of their to go through what I have been through for the past 6 months.

update from 2010 from homesafe

AUTHOR: DavidPaulHoward - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 22, 2012

well, it's 2012, and we lost our house, and a few thousand dollars to homesafe, or whatever their new company is called in new york.

It's all a scam, they take your cash and do nothing, but make you think they are doing something.  It just took the bank 18 months to repo my house, homesafe did nothing except collect my money.  If you want to "save" your house, this is a step in the wrong direction.

Just my update, I am a former homesafe customer, without a house, bad credit, and a few less thousand dollars from what they ripped me off.

I was hoping for the best in these people, and I got scammed like everyone else.

Home Safe America/United Solutions Corp is a BIG SCAM!!!

AUTHOR: marsha0915 - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 22, 2012

I too fell vicim to the Home Safe America Scam, I paid them $2500 and they promised that they had a 100% record on getting loans modified.  I was in a desperate situation, so I paid the money.  That was in 2010 and now in 2012 our house is on the market as we are being forced to either short sale it or let it go into forclosure.  I have tried to contact Home Safe America and all of the phone numbers I have are either disconnected. not in service or they belong to other companies.  I have also tried to email all my contacts and they all come back undeliverable.  This company has walked away with my money and I am sure are now doing business under a nother company name.  If anyone has any information on how to get ahold of someone at that company, please let me know.

The wife responds...

AUTHOR: Trina White-Howard - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, September 03, 2011

The writer above is my husband.  Homesafe America was of great assistance!  With their help, we lost our home 2 weeks ago and it is now property of the mortgage lender.  We are an educated couple from Washington DC who did not have a lot of time to work out our own solution with the mortgage company.  Homesafe was full of promises and after researching them on the internet last year, they looked like they were legit and we sent them the cash that they wanted.  We wasted weeks of time, gathering information and being strung along by this company, and we wanted to save time...  What a nightmare.  Now this company is shut down and the people who were defrauded are suing.  I just found the article on the suit and the law firm is helping others who have been defrauded by this company.

Signed,

A practically homeless beach bum in Florida

home safe america rip off

AUTHOR: tina - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 15, 2011

My story is very similar.  The point being that I requested to have my $2000.00 refunded after I called my bank to find out I am NOT eligible for loan modification due to a recent refi.  HSA should have established this immediately, but, instead, they took my $2000.00 & took there time in contacting my bank.  I attempted to contact HSA via phone & email with no response.  I was bounced from service rep to service rep.  After I finally got through to someone at HSA & told them I talked to  my bank & found out ,myself, that I was not eligible for loan modification, the HSA rep told me that they were persuing other options.  I told them I was not interetsed & wanted my money refunded.  I was told by HSA to submit more documents requested by my bank as they will not refund my money until they persue all options.  Again, silence.  After submitting the paper work, I received no correspondence from HSA.  No response to calls or emails.  I was told that a Mr. Saunders, supervisor/manager, would contact me to discuss my dissatisfaction with HSA.  He never contacted me.  I was told that Mr. Saunders was sending me a packet to complete, it never arrived.  I started this process 6 months ago.  I am a full time, working, single mom with one child in college & the other in private school.  I have no help paying there tuition or my other bills.  I told HSA that $2000.00 was a lot of money that I could use to pay for the kids school.  I received NO help, NO advice & NO empathy.  This is a complete disgrace.

Re: Ms Waller

AUTHOR: Debra - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 03, 2011

I worked on Ms Waller's loan modification file at Homesafe. Our attorney spent several hours preparing documents to stop the Dec. 9th sale. This was done immediately when the new sale date was announced. We are located in NY and the home in question is in South Carolina. Ms Waller is a NY state resident but her extended family lives in the SC home. The court papers needed to be filed in the county where the home is located. Apparently Ms. Waller felt we should file the documents with the SC court on her behalf. When I told her we would not be traveling to SC she became incensed at which time I repeated that we do not file court documents for clients out of state. I'm assuming that this is when she felt I was being rude.

If Ms. Waller had emailed or faxed the court documents to her family who are living in the said home, they could have walked them into the court and filed them. Her refusal to comply with this directive resulted in the sale of the home.

I was also Ripped Off by Homesafe America

AUTHOR: Ifellforit - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 24, 2011

I gave HomeSafe America a deposit of $500.00 to help me file a loan modification. I spoke to Adam Benjamin who was very nice and understanding. He said I could make payments towards the $2000.00 that I owed. I realized the next day that I really couldn't afford this kind of money and wrote a letter to Adam thanking him for being so kind but I realized I couldn't afford this and would like my $500.00 back. I was well within the 3-days to change my mind before any action would take place. I did not sign anything nor did I fill out any paperwork from them. I called the next day and spoke to Adam who said he got my letter and would look into it. I never heard from him. I called several times over the next few weeks and got lied to. I was told to speak to Jeff, the manager. I did and he said he would be sure my check would be expedited and asked that I call him back at 5:30pm. The switchboard was closed. I called another time and was told Jeff no longer works there and they put me into a law office to speak to Amanda. She said Howard would call me back and I would get my money back. Howard never called. I called back and spoke to another Amanda who said she was the only Amanda there. This all started in October 2010. January 2011 began the Amanda/Howard run around. These people are liers and they will take your money and no matter how well within the law you are, you won't see it again. Stay away from HomeSafe America. I agree with the personabove - they are Ripoff's! TO them is this a game and we are the pawns.

Follow up to my earlier post

AUTHOR: DavidPaulHoward - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 07, 2011

Hello,

This is david H as they truncate my name and take out my email sig and phone number.

Well, maybe, if someone wants to contact me, they can use Google and look for someone named Dave who likes beer, maybe even a domain name about how much davelikesbeer, and of course that would be a com address.

If you want to talk more offline about this company, I welcome anyone that wants to bend me ear.

I know that everything this company does you could do yourself for free. So why would I pay them $4000 to do this for me? Simple, TIME. I do not have hours during the work week to spend on hold, I do not have hours to fill out forms and write letters. I do not, honestly, own a fax machine. I do have a scanner and email, but no landline. I guess I could pay for eFax. Also, if the bank is willing to forgive some principal on my loan, I do not have previous experience on how much my specific lender will forgive, but I know who does, HomeSafe does (if their claims are true). The way I figure it is, they do this all the time, I do not. They know how much a lender will bend to help me, and they have a room somewhere with a bunch of low paid hourly dudes working the phone and fax lines, negotiating on my behalf to get the MOD, and then they back that up with legal experience to make sure it gets done the right way. Again, if I was unemployed and had all the time in the world, I would keep the $4G's and do it myself, but I don't.

So taking all this into consideration, and taking into account that they will get my principal reduced more than I would have on my own, I figure their cost a "fair price" to save my home. I say, "let them make some money, I will go to work and do what I do, and then pay them to do what they do". With that in mind, I think that $2000 is a little gamble to potentially save $100k on my house and get a 2% loan... but you will have to make your own decision on whether it is worth it to you, both time and money wise.

I am a new customer - no complaints so far...

AUTHOR: DavidPaulHoward - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 07, 2011

I read the goods and bads about this company, and figured I would give them a try. I understand the loan mod process, that nothing is guaranteed, and it can take up to 1 year to get a loan mod.

My wife found the site from the ObamaHamp program site, a website that appeared to be government backed, so we called and spoke with them repeated before giving them $2000. We were dealing with Josh, he seems like a nice guy, the "Boiler Room" accent scared us a little at first, but he seems knowledgeable and on top of things, so I figured $2000 to save my house is worth a shot. We got behind because of my wife's cancer expenses and I have to work in Florida for a TDY, I work for the military. So far, nothing "weird" has happened.

The biggest problem with loan MODS is there is no magic solution; you need the ability to pay to MOD a loan.My wife and I make over $200k per year combined; we got behind because of unexpected life events and illness, along with a job change for the military. We understand that people out there have ZERO income and want to keep their house, and that a loan MOD will NOT help those people. You cant mod a loan down to ZERO, so again the ability to pay is critical to the mod process. We were 6 months behind on a $530k loan, the property is worth about $499k from estimates, so we cant sell, and we asked for a short sale and were denied, because of our income

So far so good, everything was explained upfront, and we were in good shape for a loan mod because we had incomes that could sustain the new mortgage, we just got behind. We were 1 month away from the bank setting a sale date, or the law office they assigned the loan to for the foreclosure process. From what we were told, we were the BEST POSSIBLE CANIDATES, we had income and we are pre sale date.

I will list my phone number, just in case someone has news I should know, but we gave our cash, and we have a loan mod in process, we have a web link to track the MOD progress, and we have not received any additional paperwork so far.We are waiting on the bank to assign a Mitigator Our lender is MetLife.

I WAS RIP OFF BY HOME SAFE AMERICA AS WELL

AUTHOR: WALLER - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 05, 2011

October 2010, I spoke to a representative which assigned me to a Jake Daloya. Upon telling them about my home in South Carolina, with Wells Fargo, and how they have been stringing me along for almost a year for a modification. I was assured that they would be able to represent me andguaranteeme a Modification for me Home. I expressed the fact that my home was in the State of South Carolina and I was told that it didnt matter they have representation all over. I didnt even know that I was having withdrawn immediately from my account 2,800.00 before they even started the paperwork. When I inquired about the immediate withdrawal of funds that were never discussed. I was assured that itsprocedureand If they could not obtain a modification that I would not loose my funds. All funds would be returned to me. They even sweetened the deal by stating that they would be able to complete an modification for my New York House as well until I can sell it. They received my money In October, foreclosure was set originally for November, which I had post poned, in order to give them ample time to work with my mortgage company. They assigned my a lawyer which decided to call me a day before the original sale date in November 9, 2010 Mr. Anthony Blackwell, which wanted me to do everything. I sated to him I was told that I would have legal representation and now you are telling me about additional charges I need to pay you, and you still cant represent me cause you dont practice in South Carolina. He then stated I will get one of my partners from South Carolina to represent you in court. Which never happened. I had to get a realitor to go to court and inquire about the Sale on November 9. (All of which I documented). The new Sale date was now schedued for December 6, 2010. I had e-mailed, faxed and made dozen of phone calls to Home Safe America, to which I received txt messages, e-mails, and voice mails, from them stating they had been started negotiating with my Mortgage company. ALL OF WHICH WERE LIES. They never contacted my Mortgage company until December 2, 2010 and the sale date was set for December 6, 2010. At this time they stressed me to fex Ex paperwork to the mortgage company for them, which I had to pay for as well as sign an appeal letter before they can even start an negotiation. I inquired why is it three days before a sale date and you are just realizing that I need these documents, in order for you to even speak on my behalf. They you have been lying to me about being in touch with my lender all along. If you needed these documents to even begin to speak on my half. No one not even the owner could answer that question. They assigned me a Para Legal named Debra Rennie that blamed everything on Jake the person who's only job is to get the contracts in all legal work fall on the legal team. Which to me is not a good team at all. She was extremely nasty about out Rude and the Owner e-mailed me Guy Samuel about them sitting on my paperwork, but never responded to any of my e-mails during the time of me loosing my home. On December 6, 2010, I received an e-mail from Debra Rennie (para-legal), which stated the bank will be selling the house, because I didnt submit the paperwork that Mr. Blackwell put together for me. When Mr. Blackwell was too have someone represent me from down their. I payed them 2,800. To sit on paperwork and still wind up loosing my home, and when I requested my money back I never herd from them again. They dont respond to calls or e-mails from me. I Would love to start a class action Law suit against Home safe America, I would like my 2,800.00 back from them. I want to get it out to everyone not to trust anything that they say. I think the Attorney General needs to get involved in this one as well.

Getting the Resolution

AUTHOR: what806 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, November 06, 2010

I understand the original complaint and although at first the client was not happy.  Our customer service and result did prevail.  The client whom will concur has received his loan modification through HomeSafe America's Work.  He will vouch and speak to anyone who needs a confirmation.  He was almost in tears with me on the phone after hearing his home was saved and hearing how much lower his payment was.  Some clients need to be spoken to daily.  We update our clients once ever 6 business days by phone and 4 days though our state of the art data base that sends all the notes that are put on the file directly to the client.  Understand that the banks are the criminals and we mediate between borrower and lender.  The time that this takes is not fully controlled by HSA but we do complete our job in a timely fashion.  If anyone is still unsure and would like to speak with the client who at one time thought he was ripped off and now amazingly happy please contact us and ask to do so.

thank
scott

POSTED: Wednesday, August 04, 2010

Since my original complaint several weeks back on HomeSafe America , I have had weekly contact from the Company. I now believe that HomeSafe Amercia is trying very hard to fulfill their obligations to me. Manager Scott has been very helpful in trying to bring my situation to a positive conclusion. We will be having a conference call next week, at which time I feel that my complaint will be fully resolved. Therefore I am now stating that I have a positive feeling toward HomeSafe America, and feel at this time they are working hard to resolve the issue.

Loan modifications

AUTHOR: Deesearch - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 04, 2010

I work for a loan mod company and have to say that the banks are a nightmare to deal with. Dropping calls after long holds, changing rules, terms, phone and fax numbers on whim...and just plain lying from one day to the next.

They are so backed up that the approval time for a modification can be anywhere from 3 months (rare) to over a year. (common, esp for Bank of America via Countrywide)

So while this complaintant blames the modification firm(s) it is the Banks who should be called "ripoffs" Remember-we bailed them out..and now that it's their turn to help their borrowers, they are all about collecting and stockpiling foreclosed homes until the next real estate upturn.
