I am filing this report on behalf of a close family member. She received a call out of the blue one night at home whereupon she was told she had won and all inclusive vacation to Florida as well as a side trip to Mexico. Since she had been in the habit of entering online contests in the hopes of indeed winning a trip, she was shocked and thrilled to think she had actually won.

The rep from Impress Vacations spoke quickly and excitedly about the fantastic prize she had just won. He then asked for her VISA number just to "hold" her place and "confirm" her trip details. At this point she became very skeptical, but the party then transferred her to his 'supervisor' who also worked at convincing her this was a legitimate prize in connection with Disney World. When she remained unsure she was transferred to yet another agent. She finally relented and provided her number, afraid that if she hesitated she would forfeit the prize and it would go to the next person on the list.

After hanging up she felt even stronger misgivings after the flush of excitement wore off. She Googled the company name and was horrified to see it had a long list of complaints and scam/fraud alerts registered against it, most notably with the Better Business Bureau of Kansas. She immediately called the Fraud department number on her VISA account and asked for the transaction to be stopped. She was told there was nothing she could do at that point-- just "wait and see" what Impress would do. But she knew that they wouldn't do anything because so many people had been taken in by them as well and had not received satisfaction or justice.

She then called Impress back and asked for a refund, citing the many fraud alerts against them. At that point they became abusive and accused her of being a 'fraudulent customer'. She told them she would be taking action against them. They then proceeded to harass her with phone calls to her cell phone which she ended up paying for and in one instance, they replayed a previous phone conversation they had taped, but with any incriminating bits edited out-- namely the yelling and abuse they instigated against her. At that point I got involved and in the middle of this, the girl's father was seriously hurt and in the hospital. Impress continued to harass her even when she told them they had reached her in the hospital at her father's bedside. She was very upset and angry.

I contacted the president of VISA for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) himself outlining the case and asking for a more satisfactory response than "wait and see" which is totally unacceptable. After some telephone and email tag, the president's allocated client relations officer decreed that they only thing they would do was allow her a $100.00 credit as a gesture of goodwill. Meanwhile, she was out nearly $600.00 to Impress. As a struggling young person just out of school, she cannot afford to lose this money. She has always worked 2 and 3 jobs to pay back student loans and felt a desperate need of a rest. Winning a trip seemed like an answered prayer. Now it has become a nightmare and apparently with the mighty power of our governments, financial institutions, and fraud agencies, nothing can be done.

As a professional writer, I am compiling a piece on this situation with a slant as to how credit card companies protect, or fail to protect, their clients from fraud. I have now been researching this for several weeks. I am also considering a class action lawsuit. These bottom feeders need to be sent a strong message that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated or profitable. Stand up for us-- we pay enough bank fees and interest to justify a little consumer protection when banks WELL know about these frauds.

Scammers: Impress Vacations

AUTHOR: ImpressVictim - ()

POSTED: Friday, February 14, 2014

Impress has been filling the page up with rebuttals like: "Impress is real" and viciously attacking their victims once more online. I am myself a victim of Impress Vacation's scam. I've been dealing with Impress since March 2013. The whole reason I came online was to make others aware. I would not wish this ordeal upon anyone.

I hope more victims will put their detailed experiences online so that readers can judge for themselves.

If you are a victim of this company you have the option of filing a complaint via the Missouri Attorney General:

So easy to spot your fake stories Impress

AUTHOR: ImpressVictim - ()

POSTED: Thursday, February 13, 2014

Caution people: if it sounds too good to be true it is because it is too good to be true.

Why would random people target such an unknown company? These people are seeking help online from others who've gone through the same ordeal.

Would any legitimate company even think of coming online to post slanderous comments about such a small company?

Impress Vacations not a scam

AUTHOR: Diane - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 15, 2013

I think it's a shame that so many people post on this site with the freedom to make-up lies and about a company. I just returned from an amazing vacation that I booked through Impress. I too was called by Impress three months ago. I was told that as part of a promotion I was eligible for a wonderful Florida vacation. I was not told that I had "won" a trip, I was clearly informed that it was part of a promotion. I was told that the deposit was non-refundable (this is standard in the travel industry. I just lost $1,700.00 on two Delta tickets that were non-refundable)

Our trip was worth well over $2000.00 - we were able to enjoy a cruise and two theme parks. Okay, the only bummer was is that we had to sit through a 90 minute timeshare pitch, but in all fairness, Impress told us about that prior to taking our deposit. So, for $574.00 USD - about $600 CD, our family of four had a great time! Thanks Impress! There is no way Impress had your credit card number unless you gave it to them. I honestly believe a lot of the complaints on this board are either bogus, placed by a competitor, or placed by people that simply didn't listen to the terms. How can someone be pushy or not take no for an answer - why didn't you simply hang-up on the phone?

Disney Licensed

AUTHOR: Russ - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 15, 2013

As an added note, if this company was so bad, why would Disney approve and license them?

Make sure your information is correct before you start implying things that are not true.  My kids are taught that at a early age.

Unfair Accusations

AUTHOR: Russ - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 15, 2013

I was looking online and saw this report regarding Impress Vacations.  I have used this company for two of my family vacations and had no problems at all. Not only did we get a vacation (exactly as explained to us) that had to value over $3000, we saved on airfare and the registration fees were well worth the price.  I can't believe that there are so many people jump to conclusions without ever taking their trip.  It's like telling someone that a triple layer chocolate cake is going to taste terrible just because they've never tasted it ! I hope that this will help those that haven't taken their trip so they can feel assured that it's very real and well worth it.

I'm a little confused by your story

AUTHOR: Victor - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 20, 2013

I'm a little confused by your story.  You first stated that the rep from Impress had asked for her VISA number just to "hold" her place and "confirm" her trip details.  Then you say that right after the call she called her VISA fraud department so the transaction can be stopped. My question is, what transaction did she want stopped?  You then wrote that she called Impress back to ask for a refund.  What refund? Did she know that Impress travel was going to charge 600 dollars to her VISA when she gave it to them?  Did she authorize Impress to charge her VISA or not? If she didn't authorize a transaction and she only gave her VISA card to hold her place and confirm her trip details then the fraud department at VISA should have not allowed a 600 dollar transaction to occur.  If one did occur then VISA should have removed that unauthorized transaction from her VISA account.  I'm curious about the details because I receive voice mails of very excited people calling me telling me I won a free trip as well.  I never call, but I do wonder if they ask for money up front.
