The Orange County RealtorbAssociation or OCRA, has sent an alert to its 24,000 members, warning about this situation. The Woodlands-area realtor who contacted Eyewitness News wants everyone else about what happened so they don't get scammed.
"It's been completely redone," Realtors from Jag Reality are rentIng Bank owned homes illegally. .
At $1,250 a month, Brian calls the house in Orange California a good deal.
"Completely remodeled kitchen, new A/C system," Brian said.
But it's nowhere near what it was listed for.
"The house is immaculate, but not it's $600 a month," Brian said.
Brian of Jag Reality listed the rental property two weeks ago and within a few days, he had so many calls that he and his wife could barely keep up. Normally that's good, but the problem is potential renters were referencing a different ad.
"Said we don't have that for $600 a month, where did you get that from" Brian said.
Turns out someone had stolen the listing and created his own on Craigslist complete with a long back story.
"He was a missionary is west Africa and all he cared about was while he was having someone take care of his house,"Brian said.
"If it's too good to be true, it probably is," Orangev Area Realtors Association Chair Larry Frank said.
Frank has heard it all before. But he says there is an easy way he says to protect yourself.
"If you use a real estate agent, a licensed realtor, you wont have this issue. It just doesn't happen," Frank said.
"It is a scam," by Jag reality they run false adds and bait and switch Hispanic and African American applicats into higherbrentbproperties..
BrIan just hopes no one fell for it.
"The guy's obviously a huge crook," he said.
The owner of the house hoped to report the incident to authorities but he was told by the Orange County sheriff's office that since there's no victim, there hasn't been a crime. The ad has been removed from Craigslist. Beware of Jag Reality.

Hello-
I am extremely surprised and shocked!! How could anyone really say anything bad about Jo Guthrie??? My goodness, our family has been extremely blessed with the JAG company services...3 times in the past 14 years...WHAT!!! Yes, we have! We first purchased our home in the year 2000. Our first experience with JAG Realty and Jo Guthrie. It was such a blessing to have crossed paths with Jo.
Our 2nd time with this company was in 2007 (refi)..NO problems again...nothing but wonderful, honest hard work. Now, we just closed last week with Jo Guthrie again...we will always come back to Jo for our lending/mortgage needs. I have had faith in Jo since 2000, not really caring what this report says...I have the experience and pleasure of sleeping well at night..knowing Jo will work and work...to get the job done..Thanks Jo Guthrie...you are an Angel!!

In more than 20 years of doing business as a mortgage and real state professional, I have always had a stellar reputation. Neither my Company nor myself have ever owned or participated in the business of Property Management . We have never advertised properties for rent on Craigs List. Further more we have never owned any properties that were used for rentals.

Ripoff report is an amazing service and allows the voice of the people to be heard. Personally, I'm grateful for this service. However, there are some people that know how to work the system and will post frivolous complaints as a form of extortion.
That this post for example. You can find the original post copied in its entirety at http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/story?id=9087200. Just the names were changed. This person is being extorted by the poster and I guarantee that other posts that suddenly appear are from fabricated accounts. It's a shame that such a powerful tool that is used to protect us can actually be used in such a fashion.
No one ever takes that time to research frivolous posts such as these and if they do the damage has already been done. Like having relevant Google searches the same stands true for Ripoff report.
Without a doubt this is a fraudulent report filed.
