I contacted the mover who was the first mover listed on Google. He was very personable, knowledgabe. We discussed a price. We talked again, then I was given another price, a higher price, by about $1,000. I was asking what I needed to do to get my home ready to be moved. The only thing I was told was about the inconsequential things. Finally I was told the house would need to be much lighter. (Not all the things I really needed to know)

Then we talked again. I was told I needed to wire money for permits and route surveys. He wanted double the amount for them. I assumed for some kind of down payment. So I sent it, since the move was very soon. The next day I had an e-mail contract, which was again even higher almost another $1,000. Finally the little voice said to me to look up reviews for him. So I "Googled" his company and that was when I found this site, and the warnings about his license being suspended and warrants for his arrest. Well, I know it was too little, too late. But I did take this, my money transfer records, and all the information I had and took it promptly to the police department and swore out charges, which they gladly took.

Consequently, I have made one phone call to him, and have yet to hear from him again. If he shows up, the local police department will be happy to show him our local hospitality.

Similar situation with company/employees

I also contacted JCJ Mobile Home Movers and spoke with Clayton Codes which was verified through email by the assistant Dwylette Tucker who then represented herself as CMHM administration and later spoke on the phone with Clayton Codes again who claimed to be the owner of CMHM. They took my deposit and did not complete any work. He tried to get me to pay the rest of the money through MoneyGram to the driver Jimmy Chavis Jr. saying his crew needed to be paid before they would work but I refused to pay them any more money until they did some work since according to the contract the remaining money was due at the time of hook up. After telling him that he replied that he was offended that I was implying he was playing games and cancelled the job. He said he would return any portion of the deposit that hadn't been used for expenses. I have not received any part of the deposit or any correspondence from them since. I have emails and voice mails proving who I talked to so there is no confusion or denial of who I spoke with when dealing with a very similar situation as the other person. It is a little too similar to doubt the original post situation over Clayton Code's response.

WRONG COMPANY!

AUTHOR: CLAYTON CODES - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 23, 2013

I'm the owner of Compass Mobile Home Movers.  First of all, I'm not affiliated with the company JCJ MOBILE HOME MOVERS!!  After repeated attempts to contact the customer, she seems to be in denial of who she spoke with. I had a job that ran over 8 days and couldnt get to hers as scheduled.  The deposit she gave, I tried offering it back to her minus the cost of permits and surveys.  She refuses to take it.  I also contacted the detective involving the case.  In no way did I plan on ripping her off nor steal her money.

I still have her money and will do whatever it takes to rectify thhis situation.  As I mentioned to her, if a problem came up with her home while transporting it, no way would I abandon it.  I'm  sorry she had to get someone else to move it but I ran behind schedule and understand.  I hope to clear this matter up soon.  OAN, its sad that people can publish things about you thats not true.  They even have me connected to another company... SAD!!!  But my name is Clayton of Compass Mobile Home Movers.
