I was upset when I opened the box my 78 year old mom had ordered. $188.61 Did you know how much this cost? They asked me my credit card first, then told me the price and I said no I don't want it. But here it was.  Now comes sending it back. They said it costs $38.86 to ship it and it cost her $25.68 to ship it back. That is $64.54 that my mom could pay for her meds. I can believe that a nonreputable company has all thier coustomer service in India. You never get to talk to anyone in Californa and tell them how annoyed you are that they are ripping off elderly people to get thier credit card # with a recording that doesn't understand the word no! Then taking a chunk of money for shipping and the customer service people (supervisor) was a smart aleck when I called to complain. I just read how others were charged more money on thier cards so this might not be the end. Someone should really do something about this. Yes my mom and I have had a talk about not giving out personal info, but when you are 78 with parkinsons some times she forgets!!!

put her on do not call list

https://www.donotcall.gov

this is a govt website and costs nothing.  It may not solve everything but will at least cut down on the number of calls she gets form sales people.

really an employee in the us?

AUTHOR: Tina - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 16, 2013

If there are employees' in the us, why do we have to talk to people in india?  Yes, with more questioning i found out that she called the number. i can't be here every min.. and i have asked her not to make or accept calls from people selling items over the phone. this has happened one other time.

if you need people to talk to all these angry people on here; why don't you hire people in the us to answer the calls. Everyone needs jobs here not in india!

Light Relief order return

AUTHOR: Mary - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 14, 2013

Hello,

I work for the Light Relief company. I am sorry that you are going through a difficult time with your mother. Our system whether it is a live rep or automated system treats each person the same; they both adhere to a strict script we have in place; there is no douping anyone. When your mother called our automated phone system picked up to place the order, it was not a live rep so there is no way it would have understood "no". We always have the call recording to reference for these situation. Typcially, the customer pays to return the order and is issue a refund less s/p as advertised. Please email marya@lightrelief.com and she will be happy to assist you with your mother's order. Thank you.

if it is fraud

I don't know anything about this company but if it was fraud call the credit card company and dispute the charge.  they will refund the money and sometimes force the seller to pay them back, sometimes just pay it back themselves.   if they get a few disputes on the same seller they may ban that seller/company from accepting their credit cards.  The other thing to keep in mind is that older people with cognative problems can be like kids somtimes - they will lie to keep you from getting upset with them or because they don't want you to think that they did somthing "wrong" or "dumb".  You may really need to watch her more closely to make sure that she doesn't get involved in somthing that ends up costing her more than a couple hunderd dollars.
