Linda Steele AAA Property Manager SECURITY DEPOSIT RIPOFF Fort Myers, Florida

I had been a tenant of Linda Steele's for 5 years paid my security deposit of  1000 dollars, my first month rent of 1000 dollars, and my  last month rent 1000 dollars with no problem.  I have always paid my rent on time and there has never been a issue of any kind.  I called Linda Steele in March 1, 2012 and told her that I would be moving April 1, 2012.  I moved had a walk through with her assistant nothing was wrong with the house I left the house just the way that I had received it five years ago. 

I gave the assistant my new address so that I could get my security deposit sent to me and I gave her the keys to the old house, she told me that she would let Linda know that the house was left in perfect condition and that it would be about two weeks before I received my security deposit back.  I waited for a month no check and I called Linda's answering machine left a message and gave her my new address and I called her back on several more occasions and still no call back, it has been 5 months and I still have been trying to call Linda but to no avail. 

I contacted an attorney because I don't know how Florida laws work and he told me that she should have sent my security deposit within two weeks if there was nothing wrong with the house and if there was something wrong with the house she should have sent me a statement telling me why she was going to keep my deposit and I explained to him that there was nothing wrong with my house it was clean and in good repair, and that she hadn't sent me any statment of any kind. 

He told me that she has forfeited the right to keep my security deposit because she has waited over the month time peroiod, I have called Linda back to tell her what the attorney said and to ask for my security deposit back still no answer and no call back to me.  I would like someone to help me get my security deposit back please I do not have money to be giving away to Linda Steele for no reason at all. I Left The House In Perfect Condition and she is RIPPING ME OFF her and the landlord of that house that I once lived in.
