This company was hired to install a motorcycle trike kit to our 2008 Honda Goldwing.  The nightmare started in February of 2011 and hopefully ended March 2012, it's been worse than a bad divorce.

Lonestar Trikes took our money ($10K) and our motorcycle in February 2011 and we were told it was going to Denton, Texas.  After several phone calls and nasty emails we found out in May 2011 that our motorcycle was in Michigan.  The bike was brought back to us not triked which was not all the fault of Lonestar Trikes, but a good portion of it was.  The bike was finally done in August 2011 in our shop after we refused to let them do it out of the back of a trailer.

March 2012 we discovered a torn CV joint boot.  The mileage was minimal because the motorcycle was stored for the Winter.  The installer was called and he proceeded to tell us that we broke it and we needed to fix it.  What?  Really?  I contacted the dealer and they thought differently.

The installer was to pick up the part at the dealer and come and fix it under warranty.  That never happened.  The installer was kind enough to ship the part to us for us to fix.

The dealer put me in contact with another installer which required me to rent a trailer, load up the bike and travel 6 hours and it took the new installer 5 hours to fix the boot and then when he started seeing issues and knowing we had a big trip planned, he went through the entire trike kit, fixing and torquing bolts that were never originally torqued.  Fiberglass that should have been bolted to the frame and body of the motorcycle were never installed.  The CV boot was never installed properly on the shock causing the shock to rip the book almost in half.

I will never refer anyone to him and before you do business with this company I would think twice.  It's nothing but a headache.  He has a forum on his website that he only allows postings that benefit him.

As of February 2012 he is not licensed to do business in Texas according the Secretary of State.

DELUSIONAL PERHAPS???

Gary....you are such a liar.  OMG.  You took our trike out of state without our permission.  You lied to me time and time again to the point I could no longer trust you and yes, I demanded my trike to be returned to me.  At that time you said you'd have your guys do the install at our shop because they were delivering someplace in Chico, Texas which I found out was another lie.

Yes, we did have a conversation about doing trikes for you, but you were so wishy washy that it was in our best interest to step away.  You were going behind our backs after we spent the time with your customers regarding trikes.  So don't give me that bullshit.   The reason we started North Texas Trikes was  to protect US from any legal matters that might come down because of the way you were doing business.  That's actually the way a SMART business person would go into business with anyone.

Excitement Trikes in Gilmer finally took care of the issue. In fact, the entire bike had to be taken apart because the install was not done correctly.    Your story and Hannigan's stories weren't adding up and Jim at Hannigan finally had enough of your crap and put me with another installer.   Bottom line is you didn't stand behind your warranty after you told us time and time again you would.

'No' truth again!

We still have plenty of great tools left at our shops.  And lifts and air compressors and expert technicians.  If you knew anything about the trike business you would know they "ALL" require payment for kits before being shipped.  That's standard procedure across the board.  I invite anyone who would like to to come visit us or call to do so.

True enough you MIGHT be able to install those kits from those companies.  But with what tools?  Last I heard you had to sell everything.  And yet you are still trying to get money out of people.

Also, everyone now knows why you charge such a high down payment.  Because those trike kit manufacturers want you to pay full price UP FRONT before they will ship to you.  That, in and of itself, says a LOT about the way you do business.

Trike kit manufacturers have stopped shipping this "installer" their kits.  He is attempting to manufacture a trike kit himself under the auspices of "Motor City Trikes" but is, as of this comment, only accepting "investors" without one shred of proof that this project is real.  In fact, when asked, he will delete said comment from his "forum".  If you continue to ask you are summarily banned and your IP address will be blocked.

There are many, MANY people that have posted various things in regards to the extremely poor service received from this company.

My BEST advice is to shop around for a reputable installer and do NOT fall for any promises that seem too good to be true.  They usually are just that.

Here's the True Story

You forgot to mention the reason we brought your bike back was because you wanted to be trained to do Trike installs at your place as a satellite shop for us which (we did at our expense).  Your motorcycle was brought back along with two of our techs to your shop near Fort Worth at our expense.  Trouble was you never stayed in the shop long enough for my guys to fully train you so they did it themselves for you.    The CV boot in question is a factory installed item on a half shaft so we didn't put it on in the first place but the item you broke that we "would not" cover was the passenger rear foot peg remember Jim at hannigan does.  The bolts that hold it are spaced out slightly per Hannigan instructions and the weight applied by you was too much for their design and the foot peg broke off.  The CV boot replacement was sent to you but remember you wanted to be an installer!!  Why couldn't you fix it?

But instead of living up to our original agreement after I went to the trouble and expense of coming to you and training you ..... you started your own business "North Texas Trikes"  so basically you used us and talents for your own gain.   So you got your new Trike built at your location and I paid for most all of it then you went into business as a Trike installer but never put the effort in to be trained by the best .......US!  If anyone should be wary of anything it's those who would have you work on their bikes.
