I answered the summon from Midland last week, court day is on May. in the mean time, their attorney Cohen & Slamowitz kept sending me letters for settlement which they ask for more than what they ask in the summon, offer 50% discounts, and even offer to settle before i get my tax refund. i ignored all of those.
today i received another attorney RUBIN & ROTHMAN representing Midland again, this time, they ask for 1000 more than what the summon stated. it looks like a scam to me because it doesn't indicate any credit card number or original creditor. it just said i owe Midland this amount of money, then list all the methods of payment.
it also ask me to valid the debt with 30days. I am very confused, so If i don't dispute this, due to the fact that I don't even think I owe them and the letter looks fishy, they would ASSUME i owe them and make the debt valid?
in the last paragrahy, it said "at this time, no attorney in this firm has personally reviewed the particular circumstances of your account."
so what are they sending me this dunning letter for? can i file a complaint on these lawyer? where should file my complaint to ?? what are they ask me to dispute for? should I just ignore their letter? or sending my debt validation letter which they won't answer back anyway?

i don't even know what i owe them

it's totally out of blue, the only time i heard midland is the cc debt from other bank which sold their debt to midland, and they serve me summon. we'll go to court on May, 3 months later.
but sending me this other letter out of the blue saying i owe them more. i feel like responding a scam letter. they usually send you account number for credit card and the original creditor's name on dunning letter. i have no personal debt to midland, how did they say i owe them? i always ignore their mails. and the lawyer who did it, put a disclaimer on the letter, saying they don't know anything about it. so why should i even bother to reply?
anyway, i 'll send them a validating of debt letter. thanks.

Send them a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt (NOT regular mail) stating:
Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am requesting written validation of your claim, to include a copy of the original signed contract with my signature. I cannot respond to your claim until validation in this format has been submitted. A typed letter showing an account number and balance due is not proper validation.
Receipt of this letter is being officially time stamped by the USPS.
