Completely DISHONEST. I installed brakes AND ROTORS May 30, 2003-- upon having brakes checked this year they said last job (which was done by THEM) was done incorrectly and requires new BRAKES and ROTORS AGAIN. (12,000 miles later)

After charging $246.42(AGAIN) to replace the brakes and ROTORS they improperly installed the first time I took the car home to add a 'new problem"... the strut rubbing the tire. When I returned to question why the rubbing noise they said the STRUTS needed replaced (there was NO RUBBING when the car was taken in for brakes)

After filing a complaint with the main office... they called to say they would take off $39 for the brake pads (since they put the wrong ones on to begin with) but there was no way they would compensate for the ROTORS.(which ended up they did not take anything off since I was not satisfied with 'settling' for this) NO one needs new rotors each year.(unless there is improper wear from incorrect installation). They not only double charged for THEIR mistakes... they now think they can install struts too.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and stay away from this franchise. My particularly bad job was done in Canton, Ohio, but after dealing with the main office I would advise avoiding ANY of their stores. Find yourself a good mechanic and STAY AWAY from this incompetent and DISHONEST chain store.
I have filed complaint with my credit card company where I HOPE I will find SOME kind of satisfaction. BUYER BEWARE.....

First off I would like to point out that if anyone reads my complaint they will notice that I DID call Customer Service (at the 800 #--after taking the car back to complain earlier to no avail) They called me back (after talking to the Monro Dealer-- and said they would take $39 off the bill for the brake pads but that was all... as I previously mentioned I said that was NOT SATISFACTORY... and ended up filing a small claims court petition.

We went to court (Sept. 28th at 9:30 am- where they were ordered to repay $197 -- they originally said it was incorrect brake pads.. but after an auto mechanic checked it out, it ended up that they previously put on the wrong ROTORS ) As of Oct. 12th I HAVE NOT RECEIVED my money (over 15 days) I would think that if they were SO reputable and anxious to make things right they would have sent the court ordered money immediately.

They can say what they want -- but their actions indicate a lack of customer interest or service as far as I can tell. I stand by my original complaint---BUYER BEWARE. In the meantime I will continue to wait on my court ordered money.

As it turns out, Nancy wrote to this web site and filed a small claims action against us without ever contacting our Customer Service Department. We the as required went to court, admitted to the judge that we had made some mistakes in regards to Nancy's repair and she has been repaid in full.

If only she had called us first, all of this could have been avoided and Nancy would have been repaid much sooner.

I currently am a Store manager for Monro Muffler Brake and Service. I agree that it may be possible for you to recieved less than a good amount of service. However I can garantee that if the proper steps were taken after the poor service that my company would do ANYTHING they had to do to make you a happy customer. Not all of are stores are equal. Every now and then bum will slip through the cracks and run one of our stores..for a short time. Anyone who has any trouble should contact our customer service dept @ 18008766676 they will take care of you. If a problem can not be fixed at a store level another step is to contact a regional manager or zone manager directly. Just because you did not take all the proper steps to rectify a situation dont be so quick to throw a great bunch of people under the bus!
