I am writing this for my 92 year old mother who was smart enough not to fall for this scam.  My mother subscribes to several magazines and is being besieged with mail  from National Magazine Service AKS Publisher Billing Association.    These mailing look and read just like bills to renew magazine subscriptions.  They are not from the magazines but from these SCAMMERS who list themselves as publishing agents who are charging incredibly high prices to renew a subscription that is not even close to expiration.  They have designed the mailing to look exactly like a bill and even have the nerve to say "You can lock in one of our low rates!"  and "You are receiving one of the lowest available rates we can offer for you regular subscription."  My mother even received these subscription renewal notices for magazines she does not even subscribe to. They do disclose on the back of the bill that they are not associated with the publishers but the entire solicitation is designed to deceive and charge more for the magazines than if ordered directly from the publisher.  To understand the nature of the solicitation you have to read the back of the "Bill" which contains the  carefully worded disclaimers  that describes the $20.0 cancellation fee if a cancellation is accepted.  My advice is to call your elderly parents and warn them not to go near this company!!!
