On 10/22/05 I received a bill for $83.27 for unknown and unauthorized billings on 10/10 & 10/11 that were charged against my home phone number for Navicomm by One Call Communications. I called the 800 number listed on the bill and after waiting over 20 minutes for someone to answer, spoke with operator #8104. She stated that she had no way of giving me any information as to who authorized the charges, who made the charges, or what internet sites were involved. I stated that I had no knowledge of these charges, and I wanted to dispute them and was told that I couldn't dispute the charges, I could only pay them.

I then asked to speak with a supervisor, as I hadn't authorized any charges, and wanted them to be removed from my home phone number. The supervisor stated that she could give me no information as to the basis for the charges, and that One Call had no procedure for me to dispute the charges; no forms to fill out, no person to contact, no place to write. After arguing for several minutes that she had to give me information as to the basis for charges, and that I needed to put into writing my contention that the charges were without merit, she finally said I could send a letter to:POBox 3141, Carmel IN 46082 ATTN: Billing Inquiry.

I have reported this problem to the FTC and am sending a complaint to the USPostal service and will notify all 3 credit agencies of this issue. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?

In October, when I received an unknown billing from One Call, billing for Novacomm, I reported what I considered fraudulent billing to the California Attorney General's Office. On 1/12/06, OPTICOM (appears to be One Call's new name) sent a letter to M.Scott of the CA Atty General's Office saying:"Since the complainant was unaware that someone was using the service, full credit has been issued. The customer is no longer being billed and the charges have been written off." and "In order to prevent anyone from using the service without the complainant's knowledge in the future, we have blocked the complainant's line for future access." "Should you have any further questions or concerns regarding this response, please feel free to contact Steve Riddle at 800-876-1300 between the hours of 8a-5p EST."

Hope this info might help someone else.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Navicomm-One Call Communications

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 26, 2005

Not likely its a virus with all the complaints registered here against this so called "company" One Call/Navicomm. It just a plain simple fradulent scam. ( If they send a million invoices for $83.27 and only 500,000 people pay, they still make 41.6 milliion $) I wrote One Call back in the in a form letter with a blank space to put in the date. Starting off with "The attached invoice was sent to us in error. Your services have not been requested or authorized." Also mentioning that you're keeping the original invoice and the envelope it was received in (to prove fraud by U.S. mail).

Also (as you did) informing that I am going to report them the appropriate government agencies and also to ripoff report.com where they are welcome to file a rebuttal.(No, I don't work for Ripoff report/Bad business bureau) Also, to add
some icing on the cake I included a few of the complaints against them from this site.

A few weeks later I received another bill from them and sent them the same above letter just penciling in the date. -Havent heard from them since- Ive been hoping to receive a call from them so I can have the pleasure of telling them to go to hell. Otherwise I didn't bother to call them,-No Need except to make them spend the money for the 800 call. And make them spend the money for postage if they choose to send another invoice. Otherwise, don't pay any attention to these scumbags. Just make sure your computer is protected against spyware and hackers etc etc.

Same Thing Here!

You may have a computer virus on your computer, which dials out to expensive adult lines (probably 1-900 lines) wether you know it or not. This very same thing happened to me and I also got a bill from them.

Worse, the virus will not remove itself using McAfee or Norton as it is active within Windows. You need to run an updated version of SpyBot (free download), and have it remove any spyware. Then use your updated virus software to remove anything else.

This was not an easy thing to do and it took more than 3 scans to completely remove everything.

Don't pay this bill! You've been a victim of a computer virus!
