Ndottech Is A scam they cheat people by hiring freelancers COIMBATORE COIMBATORE

I have started to chat with a representative fron Ndot India (www.ndot.in) at the end of October 2012. I had a Project of creating a Professional classifieds website. I contacted a lot of freelancers from Pakistan, India, Romania and Russia. Most of them said they are not ready for a complicated Project. I was ready to pay nearly 4000-5000 USD for a good classifieds website. I contacted Flynax.com. They have answered me very fast but the sales department was asking for really high cost for even very minor modifications.

So, I assumed that it would cost a lot and they were not responding for an exact price. While exploring web I came across to Ndot India website.  They claimed that they have created www.souq.com which is named as Ebay of Middle East. I tried Souq.com for a couple of days and saw that the functionalities were fine for me. And as claimed to be created by Ndot, I thought they have expertise in classifieds. I tried to contact to Souq.com whether it is true or not that Ndot is the developer of the script. But Souq did not reply (no problem).

I contacted Ndot whether it is true that they have created this website. The sales representative assured that they have created it and they can easily create a better website since they have learned a lot from Souq, but with a different code structure etc. I accepted that and the sale representative, Nandha, requested my Project details. I posted him my Project details, summary of System Requirements, 11 pages of PPT with full of system flow diagrams, 14 screenshots of color and template images, and 5 or 6 reference website names.

He responded 1 day later and told me that they can finish it in 1 or 2 months. He requested 7000 USD for the Project and I said I have the budget of maximum 5200 USD. I informed them that this should be professional website and the project is more complicated than an average project. If they can do that for this Money I could start with Ndot. As you can guess Nandha from Ndot accepted to do the job for 5200 USD. He requested %50 of the cost as advance payment. I checked their website and checked Global ranking from Alexa, it seemed to be a real company. I paid money via PayPal.

You can see the screenshot I made the payment. After making the payment I post all details of my SRS document, totally 31 pages document. I posted the 7 pages PSD files (these are the basic pages) and many other details. They told me that they would use their UniEcommerce platform for the project. My project was to create a website combining Classifieds and Auctions in the same platform. Ndot showed a sample of their auction script and they had Deals script and they would create classifieds and combining this script into one platform.

After making the deal and sending money they started talking in different way. They said they misunderstood me because Souq.com claimed to be using different databases for each module but I wanted to have a single database. I have told them that I had a classifieds script (Oxyclassifieds) and I had an auction script (PhPProbid). But I did not want to use different platforms for each module. They offered me that I shall give them the source codes of those scripts and they would combine them.

I refused it since our deal was to create a website on single platform according to my SRS document. This time Nandha said that the manager was not accepting to create that script for that money so he wanted me to add some more money. I refused it and requested refund. But he said it would be big problem for himself and the manager would fire him. We discussed this issue for 2 weeks more but they never refunded. I accepted to pay 2600 USD per month for each month if the script takes more than 3 months.

Then I realized that they would not finish the script in 3 months, to get more money from me. Then I submitted a claim at PayPal and they freezed the process. But PayPal said Paypal was not accepting customer protection for digital goods as our agreement was about a service –creating software- it was not in the range of customer protection. So Paypal advised me to find a solution by contacting the seller (Ndot India). Otherwise PayPal would automatically pay to the seller after 20 days of suspending the money. In any case I would lose my money.

So, I removed claim from 1350 USD to show good intent. As I had paid money in 3 different transactions I did not remove claim from 1000 USD. But Ndot.in always refused to refund. Since I made a PayPal claim the money I have sent was reserved by PayPal not paying me back but also not paying to Ndot. They tried to convince me to remove the claim so the money would be transferred to their account.

I remove claim from 2 transactions (1350 USD) but other 1000 USD automatically transferred to Ndot account. I had nothing to do to protect my money. To get the script I accepted to pay 2000 USD more. So the cost of the script would be 7200 USD. It was a scary nightmare. After 40 days of discussing we have concluded to start the job for 7200 USD (initially it was 5200 USD) and finishing it in 4 months.

After 40 days of discussing I was introduced to developer. He was a kind person. But there was a huge problem of communication. He has never been involved in any ecommerce or classifieds or auction website development. He said he was involved in those kinds of scripts but he did not know anything how the auction or classifieds system works. My personal opinion is he has never even visited any classifieds website. For 2 weeks we discussed how the system should work. After sending my SRS document for many times and explaining it for 2 weeks he said he understood the concept.

I made 30 pages of SRS word document, 15 pages of PPT, nearly 15 diagrams, many screenshots, and 4 reference websites. I provided the PSD templates and much other information including what the SQL tables should contain. I posted the SRS document with a mindmapping diagram and they put their logos on the header and bottom of the word document and claiming that “this is intellectual property of Ndot”. They did not even change a sentence. They did not read the SRS document. All the things they were doing amateurish.

When we started to develop the script I tried to describe everything for 10 times. It was nearly impossible to describe what I needed. I have always used reference sites showing how the related functions work in the backend and on the front end. But, no way. That does not mean he is not a good coder. He may be a good coder but he does not know anything about ecommerce sites or classifieds and/or auctions. Probably he is Wordpress developer freelancer and hired by Nandha for this project.

It has been 4 months we are in contact with developer and it has been nearly 6 months talking to Ndot but we are still trying to develop or finish the category management. Category management is the first step they have decided to develop. I insisted on starting with common settings but they preferred this way. After 6 months of talking via Skype, mail etc. we are still at the very beginning of the project.

All the time they are trying to blame me that I am changing my requirements. And I always reply they shall check the SRS document. Many times I have deleted some of the functions since the developer does not want to understand that function. After 2 days of chat and showing lots of examples from different websites he still does not want to understand it. I am fed up with that and I decide to cancel that function. I have deleted many functions I was initially looking for. And I did not request any discount due to the cancelled functions.

Because, if I cancel a function that makes developer work easier. But I wanted only two simple functions that I have not foreseen before and they requested additional money. They revised the SRS document immediately and mailed it to me that I shall accept it. I deleted 20 functions and they made no discount but I added only 2 simple functions (otherwise some parts of script would be useless) and they added cost. This is not ethical.

Even I provided a 31 pages of SRS document explaining every function, the developer never checked the SRS document and asking me all the simple things. Even I would have to chat and explain every detail why did I prepared SRS document? So, it is been 5 months I am on Skype all the day and trying to explain every detail. For example I refer a website a classifieds script (as you know many users can access to demo backend of that commercial scripts). I explain under which menu  he can find the related function. But the developer reguests the exact sub menu.

For example I said Listing Plans of Flynax.com script is fine. And I described the “you can go to Flynax General classifieds admin backend. Find Listing plans and this is fine”. The developer replied “can you please mail me the exact link”. Any idiot can go to backend of Flynax and find that link and see how it works. This happened hundreds of times and I am fed up with that.

The developer has never worked with ecommerce script. For example anyone can know the difference between “saved searches” and “search cloud/ tag cloud”. But I could tell the difference in one week. For 1 week we chat about Saved Search and Tag Cloud. At the end, please guess what he did. Neither tag cloud nor Saved Search. The module he created was not tag cloud and it was not also Saved Search. I could not understand what it was. It may seem funny to many of you. Please think that they claimed they have created Souq.com.

And if any of the Souq.com workers read this post, please check www.ndot.in that they have put their portfolio. If Souq worked with this guys, it is probably why many of the people are complaining about Souq. Please read Financial Analysis Year 2011 of Souq prepared by Hauwa Abubakar. You will see that the first advise is “make souq.com more user friendly” and the other reason for not being successful is the website script. (it is a PPT presentation)

Ndot says they are developing a new script (Engagedots), 5 months ago I noticed that but there is no way to check the script. They have been displaying some videos but no script yet. They claim that Engagedots has many features of ecommerce and CRM. 4 months ago, just before talking to developer, I requested them that Engagedots has many features I was looking for. So, they should be able to import these features into my project which would make the job easier. But still they made no demo version, no import of any function or anything else.

Last week, sales person from Ndot contacted me. He said he was the new contact person for my project as Nandha was relieved from the so called company. I don’t see anyone on the other side of Skype, so I can’t know who he is. But I am sure that is not true. This sales person told me that the manager was not happy with the money I would pay them. STARTING AGAIN TO TALK ABOUT MONEY. He said Nandha did not follow the company policies. Here is conversation we had.

BOTTOM LINE

There lots of words to say about Ndot but I will keep it short.

Ndot India is a scam. They tend to act as company but they are not a company. A bunch of people has organized a website and only created a simple Group Deal (Groupon clone) script, a simple Micro Jobs Script (Fiverr Clone) and an auction script (Swoopo clone). If you check theses scripts you will see that the scripts are at the basic level. There is no customer with a success story. Because with these scripts, it is nearly impossible to sell anything. There is no real payment processor.

They only integrated some offline payment processors which anyone with a basic PHP knowledge can do. There is no category or menu navigation capability. Very basic Google map integration and many other cons but no pros. Their reference sites are big companies which you cannot contact. (I tried to contact all the reference websites but no one responded since they are really big companies.)

They will tell you that they can do the job. They ask you to send money. If you send the money then starts the nightmare. They will never refund you. They will always ask you to add some more money to finish the project. These process takes months and during this time you will lose all your motivation, tired a lot and got angry while trying to explain your needs. This is nightmare. I will never work with Ndot or any other Indian company.

When there is a complaint about Ndot, they claim that these complaint are created by competitors. I don’t know their competitor. But probably they guess their competitors are Gripsell and Agriya. I also contacted Gripsell and Agriya to create a good ecommerce website for me. Dani from Agriya asked for 15000 USD and it was much more above my budget. And they have the same mentality as Ndot. Gripsell asked for 20000 USD and I did not prefer it. The only company showed me a good example was Miracle Studios. But when I met them I had already paid to Ndot.

If I could get my money back I would probably work with them. Let me explain why they offered a good price. Because they were already at the middle of a similar website so they would make me share the cost. In fact they were already paid by another client and the money I would pay would be extra for only small modifications. Miracle Studios showed me their offices as a company model. But I could never see the Ndot office rooms via Skype. They always say they don’t have Camera. I am not a competitor of Ndot. I am a person from Republic Of Turkey.

Because they have friends in these two countries and telling them to phone people as once from one of these person called me from USA pretending that they have office in the USA.
