I started a small business, selling antiques, when I got laid off from work. I had another person with me, laid off so. We are just starting out with no money for expenses, but felt the need to take credit cards from our customers. A sales rep from NPC Credit cards came in explaining a cheap plan, that we could take credit cards, with a minimum monthly fee of $23.00, even if we sold nothing.

After that, they would get a percentage of the sales. We figured we could afford that. I had other business going on, when the sales rep. had be sign the papers, which worked to his advantage. We repeatedly asked, if this was all the fees and was assured it was. The month starting I saw another fee coming out of my business account of $78 and some cents. I figured it was a set-up fee, and let it ride. The next month, I saw the same fee!! Shocked I investigated, and found It was a fee from Northern Leasing. I immediately canceled taking credit cards! To cancel the lease, early, it cost me $250.00. I sent back the credit a card machine, to NPC, but Northern Leasing is saying I still own the full amount, on a machine that was used 3 times, and sent back.

They sent me a lease agreement that shows clearly, that there was no way I made it out, It has my signature, but nothing else on the agreement is in even in the same pen. Besides the amount stated of $68.00 / mo. is totally different than their charges of $78.00 / mo. If I had EVER!!! seen that amount, there would be no way I would have ever signed anything. We trusted a sales Rep to be honest, he was deceptive, and working for Northern Leasing , I understand why he never again returned phone calls. I am out of work, I have no job, and Northern leasing is driving me into bankruptcy. They state the lease cannot be revoked, or canceled, which certainly should be illegal. They have started to call my home phone number daily at 9 am, today they have call 6 times so far.

I have installed an old answering machine to try and stop the harassment!! They tried 3 times within 3 consecutive days, to take money out of my business checking account, overdrawing it, putting us farther in debt. We had to cancel our business checking account to stop the withdrawals. I have reported them to the State of Colorado Consumer fraud, and State of South Carolina. I have been willing to pay a reasonable cancellation fee, for my ignorant mistake but not the full four year contract they are stating.
