I filed two rebate requests offered on a monitor I purchased in November. One rebate was for 10$, the other 70$. Both required similar paperwork. They accepted and processed the 10$ rebated with no issues. So unlike other games they have played with consumers on filling out the forms a certain way, they had no issues with my work on the forms. However they have not responded to my 70$ rebate request. I have emailed them over three times and they send back one standard cookie cutter email.

Both rebates requests were sent at the same time so what is the deal, lost it - refused to process...does it really matter, if they really cared to offer adequate customer service they would have at least worked to resolve my problem and get my check out to me.

#9 Consumer Suggestion

Tiger and OnRebate, the worst.

AUTHOR: Dennis Ray - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 11, 2007

Sorry you got mixed up with these scammers. They are the very worst on the Internet about paying rebates. Thousands of complaints.

They will invent reasons not to pay you when the standard excuses run out. Then they will try to wear you down so you will just give up. Check out http://www.digg.com/tech_news/TigerDirect_and_OnRebate_Scam. (Ed, this is a public domain site)

Stay on them, don't let them get away with it.

Good luck,

Your glib response convinced me. You have all the integrity and the heaps of complaints from the other people who have posted here are all bogus and malicious. Yeah, right.

My guess is you people are instructed to put on the customer-service mask if someone dares to follow up on your incompetent "losing" their paperwork excuse. Maybe you really have people so incompetent that they routinely screw up people's submissions. If so I can only surmise that you do that on purpose, hiring people who screw up without meaning to.

All I know is that I feel dirty for having ever involved myself with TigerDirect's rebate program. It stinks.

TigerDirect is really good at charging for the sale, good at getting out the merchandise speedily, even good at satisfying customer complaints about defective merchandise, wrong parts, etc. So I KNOW they can run an efficient operation. The fact that they don't when it comes to rebates can only mean one thing:

It is by design.

AUTHOR: Alex - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 11, 2007

Hello Arthur:

Please be advised that any situation involving the submission of paperwork, from which the process of filing for a rebate is not exempt, can be subject to errors and resulting delays. In the unfortunate event that a customer experiences such a thing, our customer service department will make an effort to correct the situation as efficiently as possible. Rest assured that us extending such an offer to a customer is not a "stall tactic," but a genuine display of good faith.

Thank you for your time and concern regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

Alex

TigerDirect.com Rebate Ripoff

AUTHOR: Arthur - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 10, 2007

This complaint is about standard operating procedures for TigerDirect and their OnRebate arm. It's all about tactics and ploys to discourage you from collecting your rebate. There are hoops to jump through and then you have to follow up besides, especially if the amount is sizable. And if you do follow up they demand you resubmit everything. This is an obvious stall tactic in hopes that you will have lost your copies of the originals or were too trusting to make copies in the first place.

Have all your copies and submit them by fax and guess what? You are then expected to wait another month to month and one half to receive the check you were promised long ago. Buy from TigerDirect.com if you must, but do your shopping there without being suckered by the low price afforded you by the so-called rebate. Otherwise, be prepared to wait and be stalled for three to four months while they do everything they can to cause your rebate claim to fall through the cracks.
