AS A FREELANCE WRITER I SEEK EMPLOYMENT AS A SALES PROFESSIONAL ALONG THE WAY TO BECOMING FAMOUS. I AM EXCEPTIONAL WITHIN THE SALES ARENA. BUT I WAS STOPPED DEAD IN MY TRACKS JUST TRYING TO RETURN A PHONE CALL TO THIS BUSINESS. THIS WOULD FOUND ME EXTREMELY SUSPICIOUS OF THE TYPES OF OTHER THINGS THAT CONSUMERS MAY BE EXPERIENCING AS CLIENTS OR POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES. BE WARNED, DO RESEARCH, STILL SEEK EMPLOYMENT, BUT TAKE HEED TO THIS BUSINESS.

A bad day in the life of a freelance writer? Here is what really happened.

AUTHOR: organicdan - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2010

This post took me by surprise. As a leading search engine optimization and online marketing company based in Los Angeles, CA we are dedicated to finding and retaining top level human capital on an ongoing basis. This lady was a potential recruit, responding to one of our employment ads. I had called her after receiving a resume via email and left a message on her voice mail requesting a call back to schedule an interview. She had called back when I was away from the office and spoke to one of the employees. After being informed that I was not available, she was asked to either call back or to leave her contact information for me to return the call. At that point she began asking detailed questions about the job. The employee politely told her that he was not in the position to answer those questions and that she needed to speak to me to get further information. She kept pressing for the information about the job, which prompted the employee to give her a general overview and his personal opinion about what the job entails. After, he again told her that the person who is the best suited to answer all of her questions accurately would be me, but unfortunately I was not available at the time. She was then asked again on whether she wanted to leave a message or call back at a later time. Somewhere around this point in the conversation she hung up. Shortly after returning back from lunch, I called her back without any knowledge of the particulars of the conversation that had taken place. She was very abrupt to give me her perception of what happened and then hung up on me as well. She said that she felt like the employee was not very helpful in answering her questions and rude (which I know is not the case; prompt, efficient, and pleasant customer experience is what we pride ourselves on). At that point, after speaking with the employee that answered her call and hearing out his side of the story, I wrote her an e-mail apologizing about the misunderstanding on behalf of the employee. Needless to say, I did not receive a response back from this person. I did not think much of this beyond coming to a conclusion that she was probably having a bad day, but was willing to have another conversation with her in response to the e-mail. So when I discovered her report, I was surprised. Very surprised. You be the judge. Does this make any sense? Does this situation really warrant for a 'Ripoff Report' to be created? Lets be rational now. This was not a true intent of this website. And guess what? I tried e-mailing their support team asking them to review and remove this report, but their stance is pretty firm. Its a permanent record! So there you go. That is our side of the story in the permanent record of the World Wide Web.

On the last note, I would like to pose a question to you. Read the original report again and tell me this: Does that sound like the work of a professional freelance writer? I certainly didn't think so...
