When I initially spoke with Planned Occasion, I left the conversation feeling as if I would be "100% stress/worry free", interesting.... My problems began when it was time for me to sign my contract and they began to roll downhill from there...

You can say the communication between this "coordinator" and myself was somewhat non-exsistant; it seemed like the only time I spoke with her was when I called/emailed her. When those conversations did occur, it seemed as if she had an attitude or an underlining issue with my request. I guess she frowned upon the fact that I am a hands on bride who like to be in the know and/or receive occasional updates on upcoming taskings. When I never received those updates, I spoke with Planned Occasion to rectify and hopeful fix the barrier of communication, nothing changed.

Though I signed a contract and paid 50% down, the only thing that Planned Occasion has done for me was schedule my initial meetings with a few of the vendors. "I" found my photographer, my cater, bridal boutique and wedding venue, "my decorator" recommended my videographer, wedding cake vendor and my DJ, "the bridal boutique owner" came up with the timeline for my wedding party, "this coordinator <birds chirping>........

Overall, I felt as if I was simply a project to this coordinator and not a bride, she never took the time to learn me or get a feel for who I am. My issues were not addressed, my concerns were not heard, I was constantly left uninformed and disappointed with my retainers/down payment now gone. I was not impressed and would by no means recommend this coordinator to anyone. Perhaps if I was not opinionated and simply did not care about my own vision, I would have received better service. Fortunate for me, I broke ties with Planned Occasion before my wedding and now able to find "a wedding coordinator"........

It has taken me awhile to comment on this post ,because when you are trying to run a small business a post like this makes you want to immediatley respond defensively.  However, I wish to remain professional and just give whom ever is reading this my insight to this story.

This young lady contacted and contracted me for my services almost 2 years prior to her wedding.  I understood that this young lady was excited about getting married as to be expected.  However, this young lady was just one bride that was very anxious about the wedding planning process.  I will give you an example....She wanted to send Save The Dates out more than a year in advance.  I explained to my client that I thought that was way too early and suggested her to do an engagement party.  Which she thought at the time was a Great Idea!  There were other things too but staying professional I will not post those things I am pretty sure you can read between the lines.

Also, this bride states that she felt that I was not trying to get to know her, that she felt she was just a project of mines.  Well, when you hire a planner 2 years out from your wedding most of the time that means you have secured your planning vendor.  Especially, when she contracted me she had already secured her venue,( which was changed a couple of times), She had already been working with a decor company about 1 year before she contracted me, she had secured her photographer, videographer, and food vendor.  The only thing was left was dresses and DJ etc **Note Client was not a FULL SERVICE CLIENT***

Now, with all of that being said I spent alot of time on the phone with the client and because it was not alot to talk about for the wedding I became very familiar with this client ie... personal...personal....personal things.  Each conversation I had with this client I sat in a empty room in my home and closed the door so I could give her my undivided attention for no more than 30 mins to an hour.

I must say I was a little upset that the client was upset and felt the way she did but at that point I felt I had done I could do to please this client being that her wedding was still a year in a half away. So the client went and contracted another planning vendor.

I was very glad to hear that after planner #3 this client was happily married this past year and the wedding was beautiful.

Now, let me explain this website to you......They do not verify anything someone post on this site.  Which means they did not even verify if this client was even a client of mines.

So let me sum this up for you reading this post......If I got mad, or just wanted to damage your business,or your name all I need to do is come to this website and say whatever it is that I want to say about you or your business.  This website ask you to arbitrate your good name and pay them $2000.00 plus to do so.  You can contact them and tell them the information is false and they will not do anything about it without money.  No how fair is that.  I love reviews just as much as the other person but I love a company that reports confirmed reviews.

Last but not least......If you are interested in my services there are great confirmed reviews on Wedding Wire. com/PlannedOccasion and if you would like to call us please ask us for references.  We have done many great weddings for many wonderful brides and they would love to tell you about their experience with Planned Occasion!

Thanks for your time we look forward to planning your next wedding or event......

EDITOR’S NOTE:  Ripoff Report strongly believes in the First Amendment, even when it is about us.  We understand that people who have complaints written about them are upset and want to place blame somewhere, especially if they feel the content of the Reports are false.  We also understand that individuals want to blame our website rather than where it belongs – on the person who wrote the Reports in the first place.  Using the same method that we provide FREE OF CHARGE to all of our users, we would like to “set the record straight” as to the comments posted about our website through this Rebuttal.  Every user of our website has the opportunity to tell their side of the story, for free, just as we will do here.  We certainly encourage users to “set the record straight” and tell their side of the story by using the free methods available to them before they consider other Ripoff Report programs (such as our VIP Arbitration Program or the Corporate Advocacy Program) or alterative avenues (such as filing a lawsuit against the Author of the report) that cost money.  After all, we have no way of knowing if the Report author is telling the truth or perhaps the person/company who writes the Rebuttals to the Report is telling the truth - - or maybe the truth lies somewhere in between the two stories.  This is precisely why we allow Reports, Comments, Rebuttals and Updates, for free, by anyone (including the person/company posted about) who has information to share about the situation.  By doing so, all sides of the story are able to be heard so other users of the site can make an educated decision about the situation for themselves.

The Author of this report is incorrect in suggesting that Ripoff Report will remove a Report for $2,000, or for any amount of money for that matter.  Ripoff Report has a general policy of NOT REMOVING Reports.  Our policy can be viewed on our website by clicking HERE.   $2,000 is the cost of Ripoff Report's VIP Arbitration Program - a program that removes only challenged statements of facts in a Report that are found to be to be false after presentation of evidence to an independent arbitrator.  Even in that instance, the Report is not removed. Only challenged statements of fact that are found to be false by the arbitrator will be (((REDACTED))).  Again, to be clear, Ripoff Report will not remove Reports for money and any information to the contrary is simply not accurate.  To understand the full context of our Arbitration Program, we invite you to review all of the applicable information, including the Program Rules, by visiting our arbitration webpage at http://www.ripoffreport.com/Arbitration.aspx.

We thank you for taking the time to read this Rebuttal and allowing us to “set the record straight.”
