Drivers/Owner Operators: BEWARE of Port Norfolk Transport,Inc ! Very deceptive trucking practices! They will steal your escrow, fsc, inaccurate pay,and trailer rental fees.If you haul a flatbed or container they will still charge you a VAN trailer rental fee regardless! I asked what is the monthly trailer rental fee and put in writting NEVER GOT THE MONTHLY FEE only the weekly $50.00 deduction on paper! flags!!! Asked the shop foreman he stated the monthly charge for a VAN trailer rental is $150.00 monthly but PORT NORFOLK TRANSPORT,INC charges Owner ops $50.00 weekly for 52 weeks(including holidays)! So where are the extra monies going to? If Your the type of Owner Operator that will GIVE THEM THE SHIRT OFF YOUR BACK,they got a position for you!!!! Stay away!!!

Unfortunate

It is unfortunate that a driver who is not happy must vent his frustrations pulbically in a forum such as this.  Port Norfolk Transport does charge a trailer fee of $50 per week and which is listed in the lease and discussed at the time the driver signs on.  The charge helps to off-set lease fees of vans and flatbeds as well as the repairs of the "mysterious" damage done to the same trailers and also containers pulled to and from the port.

I'm not sure who the "shop foreman" mentioned is as there is no such position among our companies.  Whoever this driver spoke to regarding the lease price of a van or flatbed obviously has never tried to lease one as the monthly rate begins at $350 per month, if you are lucky.

Our drivers are important to us and we strive to provide the drivers loads they like to run along with the loads our customers request of us. We have an "Open Door" policy to air any grievances.  I wish there was something we could have done to make this driver happy, but our company did not cheat him!
