While on vacation, I was dazzled by a smooth talking timeshare sales man, which resulted in the purchase of a time share. After the purchase, and a year into the payments, I realized everything the sales person told me was false:  From where I could go, to rolling my points, to who could use it and who could not, quality of the room, etc.

After many attempts to sell the timeshare with no success, I came across a customer service advocate group, Professional Time Share Services (PTSS), out of Phoenix Arizona. They told me they could get me out of my contract due to the falsification statements the timeshare people used on me to make the sale.

Professional Time Share Services really seemed to be aware of the timeshare companies tactics used to make sales. While speaking with the associate at PTSS, almost verbatim did he recite the verbiage used by the timeshare people. He then told me this was grounds to have my contract terminated.

After several phone consultations and looking over their paperwork, I signed a contract with PTSS and paying them close to $3000 to fight my case.

They supplied me with a list of other sentences used by the timeshare people. I was instructed to check it off and return it to them so they could draft their first letter. They also encouraged me to stop paying on the timeshare to show my seriousness in this matter, and assured me that they will be with me every step of the way until this issue was resolved; that included any marks placed on my credit report.

I was even instructed to have a another paper notarized to give PTSS, although not attorneys, a limited liability position to represent me. They told me I would get a termination letter in six to eight months of starting this process - they even supplied a sample copy of what this termination letter would look like from the company.

In the beginning, they were on top of everything! I could not be more pleased that someone understood my misfortune and was there to take care of it. More than a year had passed with no resolution, just a bunch of letter writing back a fourth between me and the timeshare company.

PTSS assured me that the support team was on top of it, and not to worry. They said the letters that I was receiving from the timeshare people were contradicting, and to hold tight, they were looking over matters. PTSS had prepared letters for me to send to the credit agencies disputing my late payments and why they ought to be removed, which I did.

Shortly thereafter, I received a foreclosure notice from the timeshare company, which in turn I forwarded it to PTSS.

Since the forwarding of the foreclosure notice, and the additional negative marks on my credit report, I have yet to hear from this company. I have made several phone calls and sent many Emails - ALL unanswered by PTSS.

Reality has come into fruition about how this company removes you from your contract. They really do nothing; they are just fast talking scoundrels that wait for the timeshare to go into foreclosure - then they dump the client while taking their hard earned dollars.

To date, this is where I am left by the PTSS ' Customer Advocate Group' who fights for the rights of the people - I have approximately $3000 less in my account and negative marks on my credit report.

Timeshare Cancellation

AUTHOR: SBrittany - ()

POSTED: Saturday, June 15, 2013

Wow! what kind of mess did you get into? If you wish to cancel your timeshare contract, it is important to do the process through the right people. There are lots of companies that just want to make an easy buck and will even guarantee to recover all monies paid... if you pay them an upfront fee. This is an extension to the original scam. when the scam starts all over again. Never pay upfront to sell, rent, donate or cancel a timeshare contract. Do your homework and investigate the company you will choose to assist you with the cancellation of your timeshare contract as there are many who will tell you (what you would like to hear in order to empathize with you and get your business.) whatever necessary to get more money out of you.I highly recommend you to read this blog from Mexican Timeshare Solutions with lots of articles on how to get out of a timeshare scam: http://www.timesharescam.com/

Follow Up Questions To Help Us Watchers

Thank you for taking the time to educate us folks about your experiences with their timeshare company. I myself have been curious for a long time if I can get out of my timeshare mortgage too..... I know there are lawyers, consumer advocates, etc... they all claim they can cancel the timeshare. In your case, it seems like it wasnt canceled by the company - but by the resort. A foreclosure I assume has REAL repricussions on our credit, which is something I dont want to do...

I have heard mixed feedback from these companies who "guarantee" they can stop the payments....

Can you tell us more about your situation without revealing your personal info? Such as; How long did you own your timeshare before you stopped making payments? Did you own with a major resort like Wyndham or Diamond, etc...? Were you trying to cancel because you were defrauded by the sales agents (We were) or because you just couldnt afford the payments anymore?

Thanks so much for your help in letting us know your situation - thanks for helping us save our money if its not gonna work hte way its supposed to.
