Last yr I decided to get a new bedroom suit for my room. I went to Ashley's and found a set I thought I wanted. When I asked for the price I was told it was a little over $1300. I decided to get it, but because I didn't have much established credit I couldn't financing through Ashley so I was told about RAC Acceptance. I was told it would help me build my credit, and a good amount of my payments would go towards my purchase amount. When signing my contract, I put the 15th as my payment due date every month, and I declined some inurance they offered me. When I looked at the contract the person doing it put the 1st and when I told him he said it would be easily taken care of without a problem. At the end of thayt vistit I'd paid almost $400.

It took almost 2 months for me to recieve my furniture. I got a bill  in the mail for furniture I hadn't received, and it was due on the 1st not the 15th  like I was promised. I was also being charged for the insurance I declined when signing my contract. They continued to charge me for late fees that were not on me, and I was told in order to get my due date changed I had to pay half my monthly fee. They had the WORST customer service. I was constantly bothered about things they messed up. I decided that I would just pay it off so I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. When I asked for my payout amount, after paying for ovedr 6 months, they told me it was over $1200. I had made all those payments for funiture that was a little over $1300 and I still owed that much.

I was NOT about to pay that much money when they had already received over $1000 from me, so I told them to come get the furniture. When they came and got it, they left me with a bill. I couldn't believe it. Then they filed it on my credit report. RAC Acceptance is a TOTAL RIP OFF, and I would advice people to STAY AWAY!!! They do not know how to treat their customers, and they should practice customer service. Without us, they wouldn't have a job!!!

First off, I once was a customer, so you are proving that RAC Acceptance should practice customer service. Did it every occur to you that it was a problem created on your company's end? No, your first response is to insult my intelligiance by asking me if I read it. A represenative on your company's end went over the contract with me and YES I did decline the insurance offer. Second of all, if I had the furniture for a little over 6 months and I still owed that much money, what kind of interest are you charging? Good business is based on TRUST, and your company  can't be expected to be honest because I was completely misled by a represenative of your company.

Before you try and turn this around on me, maybe as a REPRESENATIVE of the company, you should try to represent it in a positive way. This is only another example of how RUDE people who work for this company are! Not all, but the majority. All you worry about is getting paid! You were trying to be sarcastic by stating that it's on my credit report even though I returned the furniture, but you lost business and referrals because of attitudes like the one you have. I honestly hope they read the resumes of the people they hire!!! Like I said BEFORE customers are the reason representatives get a check. Without CUSTOMERS you have NO business. Remember that the next time you try to make someone out to be the problem!

One Problem After Another

You stated you wanted certain due date and you did not want the insurance.  It then seems like you are saying they presented you with a contract which was completely opposite what you wanted.  If so, why did you sign the contract with the wrong due date and insurance?  Did you read the contract BEFORE you signed it?  Then you said they told you a "good amount" of the payment would go toward the principle.  OK, what about interest?  In a loan such as this, interest is paid UP FRONT then the payments apply more and more toward the principle!  This is STANDARD!  In reality, it makes NO DIFFERENCE how the money is applied because when the contract is paid off, lets say in five years or whatever the term is, then the principle AND interest are totally paid off!  It makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE how it is applied...in the end it is ALL PAID OFF!  Then what do you do?  If you're so worried about your credit, now you have even more to worry about because you now have a REPO on your record!  Guess what?  You are STILL on the hook for the contracted amount, it doesn't just magically vanish because you gave up the furniture in a voluntary repo!
