RAC is a bunch of crooks. I've been renting from them since December! I was late by a few days one time due to an accident and they harrassed me to the point of where i lost my job. Mind you i have an elderly person who is currently suffering from heart failure with severe liver damage living with me. Therefore due to me losing my job i was unable to provide for anyone. Even without the job i continued to pay RAC on time every time. Until i took my laptop in and traded it for a 360 with a Kinect. And still paid for that when my unemployment came in! Keep in mind i was only on it due to RAC harrasing me! Well as of last saturday i had a problem with my unemployment and they stopped it for a week. RAC called every phone ive ever touched. I looked at my phone records and they called from 6 different numbers over 30 times a day. No joke! I can prove it. Even after i talked to them they'd still call many times an hour each day. They came to my house took my xbox. Even tho i told them i would paying them the very next day they still took it. When i called the next dayto see if i could make my payment. The lady was so rude i couldve slapped her thru the phone. They said ive lost the money ive given them Which was over six hundred dollars and would have to go thru the application process again. I informed them there's absolutely no way i can leave the house. Not with a person who can die at any moment here. They said tough luck. They wont give me back my xbox, which they said i had for more than 90 days and i have paperwork from them saying otherwise. And they also said i owe them over 600 dollars. The price for the xbox according to their paperwork is less than 500. Ive paid almost 400. Im at my wits end here. Im going to file with my attourny general and take them to small claims court. And sue for the max. Nobody should be treated like this!

So sorry

I first would like to apologize for the service you received from one of our stores. Secondly to the people attacking this customer, you should be ashamed! This is NOT how RAC treats its customers. Further, I would urge you to contact our customer service hotline @ 1-800-422-8186 and explain your situation.

This will generate a "customer opportunity" for the DM (district manager) in your area. He/She should resolve your concerns without hesitation. If for some reason the DM does not satisfy your concerns please call back to the 800 number and request to speak with the RD (regional director) and one of us will get to the bottom of this matter. Again I am sincerely sorry for the way you were treated and hope that your concerns get resolved in a timely manner.

Actually according to the records they have provided me i over paid them by $98. That includes the purchae price with interest and tax. I bought it before the 90 days was up so i only had to pay the cash value. And as far as me not being employed is why they're getting sued. They called my phone and harrassed me while i was at work LOOKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE that i knew. So as far as your "i dont want to work" your completely wrong. I was more excelling at my job and on my way up in the company infact. So it is MY xbox. And its not my fault i no longer have a job. But its not like im not trying to find one. And im under a contract with the state of Oklahoma that says im not allowed to leave the dying person alone. So in order for me to leave at this point i have to arrange and pay for a nurse or someone to come out. Anything else you would like to chyme in?

Seriously?

Okay....so you're unemployed and cannot leave your house because an ill person lives there?  Obviously you have no income and apparently no desire to work; so why did you feel the need to get an Xbox?  Is playing a video game more important than paying your other bills (i.e. gas/electric/water...)?  I can't imagine it was for the welfare of this supposedly ill person you're living with.

The fact is, you rented a system from a store and you promised to pay them the item's cost plus interest.  When you did not keep your promise, it is within their right to reposses the item.  It is not their problem that you have other issues.  Life happens.  Get another job.  Pay your bills.

Sue them for what?

Exactly what are you planning on suing them for? You are the one who breached your contract with them. They had every right to confiscate thier property once you had missed a payment. It doesn't sound like you have a very good track record of payment either in your story.

Yes, you have paid 400$ and the price may be 500$ but you are forgetting the financing interest of your payments. You likely DO still owe 600$ on the XBOX. These sorts of places are a ripoff from the start. You would have been better off to save your money and buy an xbox used on ebay. As for this particular case, they didn't rip you off. They dont owe you anything. You signed a contract and didnt live up to the terms.
