On June 1, 2013 I ordered the Platinum Package - [Resume, Cover Letter, Resume Website, Thank You Letter, ASCII Resume, & Resume Distribution] for $239.00 and uploaded my information.  I received a confirmation for both the payment and the uploaded files.

As I am currently working overseas in Afghanistan, on June 4th, my girlfriend contacted Justin of Resume My Career because I had not heard anything from the company since I got the two confirmations and their web site guarantees a 48hr turn around.  She was informed that payment on the credit card did not go through and stated that they attempted to contact me via email, but “it must have went to his junk email box”.  If my spam filter had been set to filter their emails, how did I receive both of the previous confirmation emails?

On June 10th I finally received my Resume and Cover Letter and responded with required revisions. On the 11th, Justin responded to my request for revision and on the 12th, I received an email from him stating that I was scheduled to get everything later that day or the next day.  On the 17th, I was STILL without a revised resume so sent Justin an email stating my concerns and I even mention in the email that I knew when he responded that he was going to say “it must have went to your spam box”.  Low and behold, this was his response; “Mark, I believe everyhing was sent to you already. Have you checked spam? Our office opens at 9am and I can check on everything for you then.”

After the office opened, I did receive my Revised Resume, made corrections to it myself, and sent it back to him.  I did not hear anything from them for two days when, on the 19th, I informed Justin, via email, stating just that.  His response was, “you sent us back the finalized document on Monday.  We are in the process of wrapping up the remaining pieces of your order.”  That was the last email I have received from Resume My Career.  I do not recall the date, but I phoned Justin one day and explained my frustrations to him.  And to date, July 7, 2013, I still do not have my completed purchase.

Refund

AUTHOR: M. Crawford - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 09, 2013

After posting this complaint, Justin of Resume My Career contacted me and offered me a full refund of service I have not received.  That does seem fair to me, as they did write a resume and a cover letter in a word document for me to have.  I never expected to get anything for free, so the least I can do is pay for that.  Once my credit post to my credit card, I will then post another addendum to this complaint.
