I do not personally know any of the individuals in this sick little tale. However I have great regard for the web business company Dixie and John are associated with as am I. These web business owners are the greatest community of honest, high integrity people of the best kind anywhere.

Further I have lived in Ecuador for a number of years and find the content of their site fair, honest, accurate  reasonable, and professional. Further I am aware of both Gary's referred to and find the references to them 'interesting'. One is a personal friend. 

The absolute rubbish by the attackers here is just plain stupid, irresponsible, juvenile and wholly unwarranted. It is precisely because of people like them that Americans have the world wide reputation they do. That is not a compliment. (Watch Bill Maher any Friday night for some honest, straight shooting. He calls is like it is and backs it up with facts.)  

It is further rationale for seriously considering the proposal of laws here to prevent people like them from even entering this country. Keep your poison back in the cesspool you created in the first place. That is your reward for who you are.

Who do you think you are - you, an Australian living in Ecuador think you can say who will come to Ecuador and who should leave Ecuador.
You feel so self important you think you can hand out this type of advice?

This Guy is a US Marine Veteran who has faithfully done his patriotic duty and served his country, to his own detriment in a conflict that has left him scarred.
Yet you find it convenient for your own purposes to publicly denigrate him to the world. You would have done better to have let the sleeping dogs lie and not circulate your stupidity in provoking him. You who have only served your own interests and never your country.

I think it is time that I responded to the crap that has been going on. Dixie is my wife. She has been my partner for many years. She has been defending me on this site, but now she is being publicly labeled as a Bonnie and crimminal. That is unfair, libelous, slanderous, and in most countries - crimminal. But we will not waste the time of day or legal fees to chase the culprits.

I wrote to Jim Zee after he labelled Ecuadorian women "Little Brown Angels" and he used other words in a series of emails to us and our Ecuadorian partner to express that he was mostly interested in coming here to seek women out. I strongly objected to that approach, and was certainly not interested in encouraging him to migrate. He told us that after three divorces, he was broke, but still wanted women, and would even buy a car if that is what it took.

We have many Ecuadorian friends, and his approach sounded terrible.

After I let him know my opinion, he wrote the following:

Then on an immediate web submission:

And the next after I said I was not scared of his aggression.

I then asked for his address because I was not prepared to be intimidated by a death threat.

The latest series of lies by his compatriots are unbelievable. If I was in the US, this crap would be stopped. Dixie and I invested in property in Ecuador last year, and getting married had nothing to do with any bank deposit requirements that the latest Jim Zee friend claims. We are migrating to Ecuador based on our property investment, which was substantially higher than the minimum required, and we did not need to make any bank deposits. Our bank in Ecuador has even elevated us to "Private Banking" status because we introduce many new clients to them.

Our marriage celebration was on Valentines Day 2009, because this was the same day we purchased our apartment and my motor bike the year before. It was an aupicious day for us. To claim anything otherwise is very hurtful.

We are no Bonnie and Clyde. I have had a very good reputation in Australia. I was an exchange student to the US as a teenager, I came top of my class at university, I have been a successful inventor, I have been awarded many government grants and awards since 1979 and have been an invited speaker at several seminars. Dixie started the Retire in Ecuador.com website to record our travels last year when we first came to Ecuador. I had been in touch with two guys in Ecuador from more than 12 years ago. It was a dream for us to visit, and that is what we did for 7 weeks. We then invested in property, started an import/export business and also formed close business and personal relationships. We now do a lot more.

But to be a scammer? That is absolute crap.

Please make your own minds up. We don't want this sort of person as a neighbor in Ecuador, and if we discourage them, then I think that is good.

Jim Zee is correct and I have more to say in agreement with him.

As Dixie Walker says, retireinecuador.com is only a website, yes, but they advertise a land and house development at Ayampe they are selling and promoting.
They say that if you buy a block of land they will build you a house free after 2 years. Yes thats right folks, pay only for the land and they will give you a luxuary house absolutely free.

They have houses for sale advertised on their web site

They also advertise escorted trips to view real estate at an hourly fee. Doubtless they will be taking a commission for any homes they get sold as well.

And Dixie Walker says its not a business.!!

She also admits that John Walker has advised several people to "do themselves and Ecuador a favor and get out of Ecuador" That sounds like threatening behaviour to me. We can co-ordinate afadiavits from these people if they step forward, and submit them to the Ecuador authority to be added to the John Walker Denuncia file. This will prevent him from carrying out any form of business and be expelled from the country.

We already know John Walker to be a disreputable person as he tried to pull a scam on the Ecuador Authorities by claiming that Dixie was a dependant of his, and get away with paying the bank deposit required from a married couple to obtain resident status. When he found he couldn't do that in Catholic Ecuador, and not having the money to deposit in the bank for 2 single people, he got married to Dixie. Thats the only reason he got married.

Jim Zee might not have the best literary style, but I will defend and champion what he says. He is correct to say that they have plagiarised other sites, for at the least there is a video clip taken directly from You-Tube.

Be aware of the Australian con man in Ecuador

I agree with Jim Zee. What he says is correct. These 2 people are scam artists. They came to Ecuador to rip off what they see as gullible Yanks. They have no money and are just wanna be Bonnie & Clyde types. John Walker is a almost a geriatric but still trying to make a buck. Dixie is his gangsta moll...ohh John is soooo wonderfull, I love him sooooomuch. They are like Butch Cassidy and Sundance...going to South America to rob banks....only watch out for scam....
Keep your money in your bank and spend it wiser.
AND regarding Vietnam vets...not all take drugs, but many who do, do it for a reason.....to forget the horrors they saw in nam. Such scenes that John and Dixie will never know.....GO the USA way and avoid the Australian conners.

I am the owner of the site Retire in Ecuador and refer to the comments given by Jim Zee from Longwood in Florida. Firstly the website is our personal journey into Ecuador, and our pages are just this. Any facts that we put on the site have been approved by our business associates. How this guy can comment on anything on the site is beyond me. He has never had any business dealings with us or does not even know of anyone who has. He has never even visited Ecuador. John is my husband and he is not dangerous, hiding in Ecuador, a con man, a fugitive or anything else this crazy guy is saying. He refers to Gary Phillips as a better reference. But Gary is our Sales & Marketing Manager and friend for a property development that John is doing with our Ecuadorian partner. I have never received any money from anyone from my site........again he has no idea what he is talking about. We are more than happy to share all the emails he and John wrote. We have absolutely nothing to hide. This guy sent through a submission which I felt was not worthy of publishing on our site and he also sent through some derogatory comments about the Ecuadorian females referring to them as "Little Brown Angels". His main interest seemed to be coming to Ecuador for sex. We are residents in Ecuador and do not like anyone who treats our friends and neighbors in a bad way and John is the first to say so. To say John is Anti-American is also very untrue. He has also told non-Americans to "do Ecuador and yourself a favor, and go home".
