RGS FINANCIAL IS A JUNK DEBT BUYER, they buy old debt from collections agencies and try it collect on it. using magical re-aging process's, they take the debt from the collection agency, not from the original creditor. They are asking to be sued by doing this, under Federal public law. SOL begins on the last payment of the account.

RGS, Chris Pruitt false claim

AUTHOR: Lisa - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 07, 2014

I get calls from RGS at all hours, even the illegal hours. I did try to contact this Chris Pruitt regarding his claims of being available and no surprise, he won't take the call!  I have no business with them! After reporting them and Chris to the FTC, I'm going to contact an attorney. Can someone suggest one who knows this pathetic excuse of a business?

Thanks for the input.

Lisa

They are Wrong Buddy - SOL restricts a CA from filing suit

AUTHOR: Rubicon - ()

POSTED: Friday, January 03, 2014

A statute of limitations is an enactment in a common law legal system that sets the maximum time after an event that legal proceedings based on that event may be initiated. In civil law systems, similar provisions are typically part of the civil code or criminal code and are often known collectively as periods of prescription.

SOL IS A STRONG / VALID DEFENSE

AUTHOR: SKORPION - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, November 29, 2012

I just would like to chim in and educate the consumers , first of all it is important to send out the VOD letter (registered of course) and dispute the amount ! (you have 30days to do so, don't miss the deadline)

RGS is a junk debt buyer, means they buy the dollar by the penny and work on commission (always deal with the creditor directly!!!)

The SOL is a very good valid defense not to get sued(check the SOL by state) , I've been to courts many times, never ever ignore judgements and respond within the required time (ask for proof of debt and so on).

And finally just google the terms for  "creditboards" and they have all the answers !!

Have a great day !!

wrong wrong wrong

RGS is a junk debt buyer, they purchased the debt from Asset Acceptance Corporation, after they were served with a Cease and Decist. This is illega on Asset part, as they are assuming the debt is still collectable. but either way, Im waiting to sue Rgs in district court for violations of the FDCRA. Ive never lost and to date have 9000.00 in cash, and 3000 in attorney fee's, as the FDCRA allows attorneys fees to be collected from the collection agency.

#2 General Comment

I have bad news for you.

AUTHOR: IamGood - (USA)

Any company can sell debt to another company.  There is nothing Illegal about this.  The SOL is the time period when you can be sued for this debt.  The SOL doesnt mean you dont owe the debt.

The company that bought the debt can still contact you regarding this debt, until you notify them "in writing, and sent certified mail" to stop contacting you.

It is not uncommon for a debt that is out of SOL, to sue the debtor.  They count on the fact that the debtor will be served certified mail, and not show up in court to dispute the suit filed against them.

This would cause the debt to convert into a judgement.  So 2 things,

1. You still owe the money to the creditor, regardless of the age of the debt.
2. You can still be sued over the debt, and you will have to hire an attorney to fight the debt on the basis that it is past the SOL for the creditor to sue.
3.  Your comment that this company is a Junk Debt Buyer is not correct.  You incurred the debt, and you got a service rendered to you, and you still ethically, and morally owe the money.
