Rid Your Stuff did not pay for items collected as agreed and failed to respond to repeated attempts to collect what was owed.

Our company was refurbishing a building and asked Rid Your Stuff to come and bid on some of the items that were in the building. After deciding which things they would like to purchase, Rid Your Stuff quoted a price for all of the items which we agreed to.

Rid Your Stuff then lowered their quoted price after already agreeing to the first one, but our company went ahead and accepted the lower amount.

After collecting the majority of the items they wished to purchase from us, the president of the company, Jason Witte, agreed by email on September 29, 2011, to send us a partial payment and send the remainder of the payment when they had collected the final two items (which were a door and some signage).

We never received the partial payment. However, Rid Your Stuff did return to pick up the two items.

Rid Your Stuff STILL did not send payment for ANY of the items they had acquired. After multiple attempts to contact them by phone and e-mail with no response, our company finally told them that we would be pursuing other avenues to collect our payment on May 31, 2012.

To this, the president of the company, Jason Witte, immediately responded saying he had been out of town and was under the impression that his employees had been in contact with us. He said he would look into the matter. We agreed to wait to proceed with further measures until we heard back from him.

On June 11, 2012, he finally responded saying that his records showed Rid Your Stuff had cut us a check, but it was never cashed. He agreed that they still owed us payment in the amount of $550.

Our company then provided him with our current mailing address so he could send us a new check. The new check he promised was once again never sent.

On October 22, 2012 we again sent Jason Witte an e-mail requesting that he contact us regarding lack of payment. He did not respond.

It has now been more than a year since Rid Your Stuff quoted us an amount they were willing to pay and picked up the selected items. They have still not paid ANYTHING for the items they acquired, and they will not respond to messages pertaining to the situation. At this time, we are assuming that they never intended to pay for the items they took.
