for 3 weeks now RPM collections has been calling me a minimum of 6 times per day, at least 3 on my cell phone and immediately afterwards my home phone, up to ten times per day. Anywhere from 7 am est till 10pm est. As is with most of the stories I have read here, they threaten me with law suits, filing liens against my home property or any other property I have. When I told him he was full of it, he told me it was a new state law, so I went to the law web sight he told me about and for over twenty minutes, I searched and never found that law. Now this whole time, I was on the phone with him, lol. and when I told him I couldn't find it, he told me well it's there I know I have it right in front of me. I said guide me to it, but he couldn't, he said it was up to me to find it, but they were a suing company and my name was on the list to sue. He then asked me if I was going to pay this bill or not? I told him there was now way I could pay 2200.00 and that the amount was nothing but interest and late fees and interest on the late fees for the last 4 years, and that I had paid the actual loan off years ago for the purchases and that they couldn't put a lien on my house or a credit card debt, especially with all the credit problems the whole country is having and with all that president Obama is supposedly doing to help out the country. He again told me Oh yes they can and they will if, (again I see this many times in the complaints) YOU ARE REFUSING TO PAY THIS ACCOUNT. I then told him I was not refusing to pay the bill, I can't pay the bill, I am on workers comp and haven't worked since may 6th of 09. That I am waiting on surgery on my neck and that I have lost over 2000.00 dollars a month income and barely have enough to pay my mortgage and utilities. and that credit cards charging me 25% interest  for 5 yrs are not on my list of concern at the moment. He then told me, I repeat, told me to borrow it from friends or relatives. At that point I told him I had heard enough threats and harassment and not to bother me again about it, that when and if I could I would take care of it. Again he went into his tirade about me owing it and to get the money or they would come after me and my home. I told him to try and he would here from my attorney. Today they made the same threats for the umpteenth time, so I called my attorneys office and also sent a complaint to  the FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. Then I called them back at 301-882-9954 and they knew exactly who I was when I called in. I never gave him my name and while I was telling him what I did he at one point said, WELL HOW CAN WE DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, WHEN WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THIS IS? So as I was telling him to stop harassing me, he called me by my name and said they had a right to call me. HMMMM he called me by my name after he stated that they didn't know who this was, lol. hmmm.  he then started telling me he had to inform me they were recording this call due to the law that they were a collection agency and blah blah blah, lol. and for the last two hours i have not had a call from them. but it's only 7pm, lol. Don't do anything with this company. They told me they have sent me several letters also, I have not seen one yet.. over a yr ago, they tried to harass me on a bill from okla. gas and elec. from 3 months after I moved from there to Florida, plus interest. what was once a disputed 248.oo dollar bill was now over 800.00 dollars, and from jan. 1998. I moved to florida in oct of 97. I threatened them then with my attorney for harassing me over an 11 yr old bill, and they didn't bother me but once again after that, and I gave them my attorneys name and address and phone number to call them. I never heard back again on that bill. DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY HARASS YOU. I DID NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACT WITH THEM. AND A LOT OF THESE COMPANIES JUST GO ONLINE AND FIND OUTDATED BILLS AND JUST START TRYING TO FORCE YOU TO PAY WITH OUT AUTHORIZATION, THEN THEY JUST GET FREE MONEY. THEY BUY THESE DEBTS OR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR AND HOPE THEY CAN FORCE YOU TO PAY THEM THE WHOLE AMOUNT THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE PAID 100 DOLLARS ON A 1000 DOLLAR DEBT. AND IF YOU DECIDE TO SETTLE, THEY WILL DO IT FOR MOST ANYTHING THEY CAN GET.
