I was looking to purchase a used motorcycle so I went to Sacramento Harley Davidson, they had a 2006 V-rod for 9995.00 which all good, but the bike only has a retail value of 7440.00.  When I asked about this I was told because it had low mileage.  I informed them in a KBB report there is no adjustment for low mileage.  Normally I wouldn't say anything about this but it just bothered me so much that I had a bike to trade in with a thousand dollars worth of saddlebags and very low mileage, they offered me the KBB trade in value, and they placed no value on the low mileage and the saddlebags.  It is the double standards of this Harley Davidson that has made me file a complaint about them.  I am a real customer I went to SAC Harley Davidson on 3/19/14.  Don't get ripped off don't trade in or buy a used bike at a Harley Davidson dealership.  I would be careful about buying something new to.

retailer not required to follow KBB

I wrote a report about a harley davidson delaership selling used bikes above KBB.  The rebutal was that they were not required to sale  used bikes at KBB prices.  I did not imply that they were required to sale at KBB prices.  I was merely trying to inform the consumer that if you trade in a bike they are going to rip you off by paying you what KBB says your bike is worth and if you go to buy a used bike they are going to charge you far above KBB.  They are also going to rip you off in dealer prep which needs to be regulated.  If you buy a used Harley from a dealership DO YOUR HOMEWORK find out what KBB is before you go in.  Oh buy the way I was told by a SAC HD salesperson when they buy a used bike they pay very low prices for them..I did not say or imply HD had to follow KBB pricing, however it would be nice if they did, instead they will continue to take advantage of us...I will not be purchasing a HD from SAC HD....but that is just me....This is not to pursuade but to inform....

The merchant is not required to follow KBB pricing; therefore, your claim of a rip-off is not valid.
