Stamps.com offers a trial CD for their postage services. The installation may work for some, not really with Vista. The problem is the difficulty of ending their subscription services. A simple call to terminate service wound up being a tortuous nearly 20 minute call with a customer service rep almost not allowing me to cancel. A quick rebuttal is understandable, but 20 minutes of me repeatedly asking to cancel service is insane. For no other reason, I would caution anyone before doing business with Stamps.com, maybe even avoiding them altogether. At least until they end such practicces. More importantly, do not accept any free or trial offers from any business that ask for your bank or credit card information, you will lose all control and may ending spending or losing far more than you bargained for.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Reverse charges

You can give your credit card number out to businesses. It is crazy to put you through 20 minutes of talking on the phone to cancel. After a few minutes, just say "OK, I guess I will need to have my credit card company reverse the charge". If they get enough reversals, the credit card company will drop them.
I use stamps.com and it is very convenient, hooks into my Quickbooks, so a few clicks and a shipment is made. I would not use it if I had to type the address in each time.
I avoid free trials because I forget to cancel them or do not want to be bothered with contacting them.
Yes, Stamps.com makes you call them to quit, that is not very cool.
