I dreaded filing a rebuttal to this FALSE complaint/report for three reasons:

1) I am a private person.

2) A La Plata County Sheriff's Office Deputy advised against it suggesting I would be adding legitimacy to the website and giving more information that could be twisted and used against me.

3) I did not wish to send any more traffic to this website as I was not anxious to validate its existence.

I find it difficult to believe that a website which headlines with "Let the truth be known! would allow a Libelous list of LIES as contained in this report to actually be printed without any proof what so ever from the person who submitted it. Last night something sparked in me and though I was torn about whether to file a rebuttal or not, once I found that two people found the "post useful", I was more angered than ever.  Some one finding LIES about me as useful was my inspiration to set the record straight.

Since LIES about me can be printed on this site with no validation of authenticity, then I have to conclude that this site would never be my go-to website for the truth.

This website itself claims "The Ripoff Report is a non-substantiated source of information." 

The guidelines for submitting a report are as follows:
Q:  "What makes a good Ripoff Report?
A:  "The report should be relating an honest, factual, and impartial story. Make your statement as objective as possible. Report both sides to the story."
"Reporting a false statement can get you sued."
"Use any details such as names, times, places, tape recorded evidence (where legal), pictures, and witnesses statements, that will reveal the facts and support your Report. These items could be submitted to us to be made a part of your actual report... "

The allegations in the report about me fulfill NONE of the above guidelines - it is neither honest nor factual.

It's a crying shame that they don't demand a complaintant-submission identity verification! 

Instead the guidelines state the following to protect the person who files the report:
Q:  "How secure is my personal information?"
A:  "VERY. All Ripoff Reports are strictly confidential. We will not sell your e-mail address or any other information that you have given us. We simply use it to identify the complaint. At the most, we may e-mail you if we need additional information on your Ripoff Report."

As one can see the author of a report is given confidentiality while exposing personal information about another.  It would seem the opposite should be required while making a public nuisance of yourself in defaming a person by inventing Statements Against Fact (LIES).

My requests to Rip-Off Report.com & their attorney for the true identity of the author of this BOGUS HOAX has fallen on deaf ears, so this is all I get, a rebuttal and specific explanation which follows the guidelines for rebuttal. 

The report is a Libelous Statement against fact. 

I have NEVER been arrested nor accused of ANYTHING listed in this FRAUDULENT report.

The report is a HOAX which goes against all reality and is an entire crock of LIES made up by a coward who submitted the report under a false identity.

For more than 20 years I have known Gail Downs of Durango, Colorado who allegedly submitted this report.  Gail Downs did NOT file this report.  This vicious crock of lies was written by someone impersonating Gail Downs, someone who does not have enough backbone to write under their real name, but instead they stole the identity of another.

I challenge the true author of this report to provide written proof of each allegation, including charges and accompanying arrest records, interviews and records of any admissions by me of guilt to any alleged charges.  Also include proof and dates of the alleged RMHA inspection of my horses with accompanying notations.

I was told by a deputy at the La Plata County Sheriffs Office that I cannot obtain a statement from them which would disprove the allegations in this bogus report because there are NO records of investigations, interviews, nor arrest records associated with my name.  In this catch-22 situation I cannot prove here the FACT that the allegations do not exist, because in reality the allegations do not exist!  

Although anyone interested in the truth is welcome to check with the La Plata County Sheriffs Office (or anywhere in the world) for themselves and ask for any criminal records in my name.  I assure you, none will be found because none exist.
