For all of you out there that might be consider Stamps.com, I'd recommend avoiding it, unless you are absolutely serious about using it beyond the trial period. And don't fall for the free trail period bit, because it's not really "free" unless you cancel before the 30 days is up!!!

Why? Because Stamps.com bills you for that 30-day period once you into the normal use period. They blatantly don't make this known, that they will bill you in arrears.

By this I mean this - I signed up on May 27 for my free trial period. On June 27, because I was stupid and hadn't canceled the account prior to that date despite not using it, they billed me $14.99 for the period of May 27 through June 27. By the time I canceled the account today, I also got billed $7.49 for the the portion of the period from June 27-July 27 that had passed.

This scam needs to be investigated, because the trial period isn't truly free and because they don't clearly state that they bill you in arrears.
