I made a visit to Stein Mart located in Mckinney, TX to buy an Umbrella, definitely not for the clothes, their clothes arent stylish to me.

Picked out the umbrella walked towards the front to check out. While waiting in line for a few minutes, I noticed the cashier speaking to a causcasion looking women very nicely, and asked her if she would like to sign up for the rewards program, they held a lengthy conversation.  The cashier was so sweet to the lady.  Now its my turn to check out.......wait! did a new cashier walk up and check me out without me noticing.  This cant be the same  girl that just checked the causcasion looking women out. I didnt get the same warm pleaseant greeting. No one asked me if i would like to open a rewards card.  I'm surprised she told me how much the total  for my umbrella was.  I told her to call her Manager to the front, I spoke with Ginger, bought the situation to her attention but still felt a need to reach out to the Corporate office to let them know that Stein Mart doesnt treat people the same. Is it because i just bought and umbrella or is it because my skin is slightly tanned? I called Stein Mart Customer Service spoke to Azila, I asked her to have her Supervisor to call me because Azila wasnt nice to me at all.  I made that phone call somewhere around 08/09/13, still havent rcvd a call from upper Manangement or Azila's Supervisor.  However Ginger did return my call.  So i guess the Big Wigs didnt have time for my complaint, I mean who cares that i was treated differently. Right?  I guess thats just the way Stein Mart Rolls!

Oh My is Right..

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Sunday, August 18, 2013

If you are the least bit serious...you need to get some serious "professional" help.

A NORMAL person does not automatically go to racism if they are not offered to join a "Rewards Program".  Heck...90% of the people out there would probably be very thankful that they were not "harrassed" by a cashier for trying to sign up for yet another store program instead of the cashier just doing their job and ringing up their purchase.  Oh and the other 10% wouldn't even realize it because they were not easedropping on someone else's converstation.

For your mind to go to "racisim"...you would have already had to have "racisim" on the mind.  Perhaps you are in fact the racist.  After all how come you named the race of the cashier and not what your race is?  What does her race matter?  If you are slightly "tanned" perhaps you are just someone who spends a lot of time in a tanning salon and the cashier was jealous.

Perhaps the cashier realized they spent too much time with the other person and your "attitude" was one of "just get me out of this place".    After all you stated yourself that their clothes basically such and the only reason you were in their store was to get an Umbrella..perhaps your face and body language showed it.

I am really curious though...what did you want them to do about this and what did the managers say?

"I think i have just experienced racism"

You do not have a valid enough reason to complain and possibly get the cashier in trouble for something you 'think' may have happened.

"Is it because i just bought and umbrella or is it because my skin is slightly tanned?"

Maybe it was your attitude, maybe you had B.O. or maybe she simply forgot to ask. Maybe it's because you don't know the difference between an and and. Don't be such a troublemaker. You don't like the style of their clothes so your complaint is a moot point.

And BAM!!! Yet another victim of both the online shopping and being cheap. A very bad combination that gets you everytime. You should have known a real Morphie would be closer to $60-$80.
