New residents to Fairfield, CA Travis AFB.  My wife called who she thought was Comcast but ended up reaching a company called Techzilla aka Saveology who conducted the call in a way that would make you believe you were speaking to a Comcast agent. They spoke about special pricing on packages and the like. They then ask you of you already have your own equipment. They then offer you equipment for $199 and tell you in 18 weeks you will receive a rebate She must have googled "comcast" and the link she chose was a fraud site. I am researching her history now to find the exact url.

I called Techzilla aka Saveology at 877-713-5405 and spoke to one agent who was rude and asked for a supervisor who's name was Shawn #17587. I asked him to pick up this equipment via UPS call tag. He refused. He told me it does not work that way. I told him I did not order this equipment and had no need for it. He told me I would have to ship it back to them at my expense. I told him I would contest the charge with my bank and he said he has the recording of us ordering it etc. Complete bull.

I spent an hour getting to the bottom of this and confirming this is not an authorized 3rd party of comcast. I will be calling the Comcast headquarters on Monday to advise them of the situation.

I cannot tell whether you agree with me or you are admonishing me for accidentyally clicking on a sponsored link?

Yes I do call it fraud when a 3rd party reseller does not identify the fact that you are speaking to another company and not the one you intended to call. This is misleading and wrong!

When they fish your credit card number to sell you equipment that you really don't need and then there is the recurring $9.99 fee that shows up after, yes that is fraud.

I have worked for resellers and we had to identify our company.

Good for you leaving that dishonest company!

Fraud?

Since I work for the company in another department , the one question I have for you is why are you calling it fraud when you are going to a search engine , typing in Comcast, and thinking the only link or links you will see are for the actual company? Please from this point on just to the actual company website. There are 3rd party vendors who can sign people up for Comcast service, which is not fraud. If I can find out any information I will post it, but I am leaving the company soon because I am too honest and can not stand the way the company takes advantage of people.
