These are bunch of scammers. Pulled in and asked for oil change(syntetic) was quoted $69.99...ok kind of expensive but was told its going to be done in 10 mins.     Waited 20....sales guy comes in says that my filter cost extra $10...I said no thanks, let me have a car, I'll do service somewhere else. He said no problem, he wave that fee this time.     He comes back in a min and says my Air Filter is dirty, I said I came to change oil, nothing else, he goes away again. 10 more mins pass buy and I called to cashier, bill is $93.04!!!!....instead of promised $69.99 plus Flagler County Tax (7%). I said what the heck is going on??? Cashier says that $69.99 is for 5 qts of oil, not 6!!....I asking why I was not told that before service? He says well everybody does that(he meant all service stations) I told him that a first time in 15 years of owning car I've been screwed up like that. He said that I can't get my car if do not pay...extortion. JUST AVOID those PUNKS at all cost!!!

A Bit Excessive!

AUTHOR: OHara - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 18, 2010

Yep, $30.00 for that 6th quart of oil is excessive.

I had another one at a Texaco quick change.  I had a motor home built on a Ford E-350 Chassis with  a 351 CI engine.  For several years, I had been taking it to the same quick change for oil changes and the price was always the same, about $36.00.  Then one time I went in and after they had drained the oil out, they told me it would be $90 something and that was what they charged for motor homes.  It was simply a Ford 1 ton van with  a motor home body on the back.  It had the same engine as a car!  They could never explain to me why this would be nearly 3 times as expensive as a Ford car with the exact same engine!

I didn't pay the escallated price and never went back to that place or any other Texaco outlet.

But I've had other problems with Texaco!  Once in Marietta, GA, I was pulling into a Texaco station and the ignition modulator quit halfway between the street and the gas pump.  The car just died right there on the spot!  Now, ignition modulators are a simple repair and I figured I'd just push it off to the side, call my girlfriend to pick me up and come back the next morning and replace the ignition modulator, get my gas and drive home.  I went inside and told the clerk who told me that if I left it, it would be towed.  I had to get my car towed that night!

Another day, I was hit by a car as I was turning into a Texaco.  The car was damaged but not absolutely undrivable and I moved it from the street to the back side of the Texaco lot where there was a pay telephone.  The only problem was that the telephone was not working.  There was a Kroger supermarket behind the Texaco that had a telephone.  I went there and called my friend to bring my tow dolly so I could tow my car home myself.  As I was calling him, I saw my car on the back of a roll-off tow truck moving away.  I RAN back to the Texaco but when I got there, the clerk who had it towed was already gone!  His shift ended and he went home.  No one could tell me where my car had been taken.  The next morning, I called the Texaco regional office (about 15 miles away) to enquire about the location of my car.  Not only were they extremely rude but they could not tell me where my car was.  It took me 3 days to find my car!   Texaco offered absolutely no help.

That's been almost 20 years ago and I have yet to buy a single drop of Texaco gasoline since.  I have also never bought anything from their convienience stores.  I don't even go on their lots and never will again.  I was an almost daily customer before these two instances.
