When ordering, they emphasize the fantastic price of the ticket you'll get, and they don't mention the fees they charge. Only when I asked what the total charge was did I learn that they were charging $53 PER TICKET for their "processing fee." I said I wanted to cancel the order, but they said it had already gone through and there was nothing they could do about it. Stay away.

#2 UPDATE Employee

We advertise all relevant fees throughout our site

AUTHOR: Ticket Liquidator - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, September 10, 2012

Hello! I am an employee of TL responding to the customer above. We're sorry to hear about the customer's unhappiness in regards to the fee structure on our site.

Briefly, when a customer purchases tickets through our website, they pay...

1) the ticket price

2) the service fee (18.5% of the ticket price)

3) a delivery fee (FedEx, usually)

We advertise our service and delivery fees twice during the checkout process on two separate checkout pages in order to ensure that customers register the information before they place their order. We also explain our service fee in an informational box above every single event listing on our exchange before the customer even gets to a checkout page.

The service fee itself is actually the only part of the transaction that accrues to TL. It pays for such service needs as customer support, website maintenance, secure customer billing, marketing, utilities, and the software we use to allow ticket sellers to sell event tickets online. Every ticketing website has a service fee (including the primary sources like Ticketmaster) so the presence of such a fee is not unusual. Our service fee is 18.5% of the total ticket price of an order.

In this case, it sounds like you were trying to place an order over the phone and you may not have been on the website when you ordered. You do note, though, that our representative told you about the service fee ahead of time. This would have been before any order was placed and before you were asked to accept the Terms and Policies. You would not be able to cancel an order after you had okayed its being placed for you. (This is also standard in event ticketing) The reason that all sales are final is because tickets are (usually) irreplaceable products with a finite limit on their value and a fluctuating market price. This means that returning any tickets may put your seller in the position of either not being able to resell them (thus losing everything on your order) or selling the tickets for less money from what you paid. They'd ultimately pass off these losses to the consumer via higher ticket prices because such losses would not be sustainable for a small business - the category under which many tickets sellers fall.

Either way, we're sorry for your unhappiness! Please email our manager Molly at molly@ticketliquidator.com with "RIPOFF REPORT" in the subject line and she'll see if there's anything she can do to help.
