I live in Canada in Ontario and my husband and I were on a website called Kijji and we found a beautiful Ragdoll 9 week old kitten. She was white with a light dusty grey outline on her ears and tail, a bright pink nose and crystal blue eyes. She was suppose to be for free coming from St Catherines, Ontario.
When emailing Jimmy Patrick (owner of kitten) he said we could have her but he had just gotten a job promotion and was now in Portland USA. But he was gonna go to Tlc Pet Transport In- Home Inc and have her sent to us directly. He told us we would have to pay the $130 to send her out.
We did that and sent the money using Western Union. We then received all her flight info and new when to expect her. Instead of waking to a kitten, I woke to an email stating that she is being held at LaGuardia airport in New York and we need to now pay $750 to put insurance on her and they gave her more tests and stuff.
The airport has no idea what were talking about. All flight info is real, however there is no animals on any of these airlines. We called other Tlc agencies in the area of that airport to find out we had in fact been scammed.
It makes me sick that people are out there and take advantage of people like this. Get there hopes up and then rip there hearts out and have no remorse. My family and I are heartbroken over this. And we are still being threatened by them saying if we don't pay within 24hrs she will be abandoned and we will face a huge fine for animal cruelty.

This is not the real TLC Pet Transport, the Nationwide Professional ground pet transport company that they are talking about. This is a scam outfit that attaches legitate pet transporting companies names to their fake business in hopes of bringing themselves credibility.
The real TLC Pet Transport is stricky a ground transport company. We do not ever fly pets.
Nor do be transport any dog or cat that is purchased over the internet. And we absolutely do not transport puppies.
Because we are a popular and well known company that has been in business since 2001, they use our name, along with other reputable companies, in the scam to make it appear on the up and up.
This a a multi million scam that has be around for about 8 or 9 years now. They are out of Cammeron, Africa and sometimes out of the Netherlands.
Please beware! There is no puppy. And anyone who asks you to pay by Western Union or a money order or money gram is just out to rip you off. Please be careful.

I hope by now you know this is a scam and there never was any kitten.
Anytime anyone you don't know asks you to send money through Western Union, Pre-Paid Debit cards, or Money Orders you have to figure it is a scam. Regardless of the reason they give you.
As to if they contact you again. You could let them know you know it is a scam or have other "fun" with them. The other thing you can do is let them know that you will just go pick up the kitten personally and pay what ever bills you need to pay then. My guess is that they will either come up with some excuse why you can't, or hang up and never call you again.
