Transition America, Limited Services with no real job opportunities, high cost, beware Brentwood Tennessee

In early 2008, I signed up with these guys for "Professional Employment Services". The cost was over $4,000 which I put on a credit that still had some limit room on it. At the time, I was gainfully employed full-time and was looking to improve my situation.

After an initial meeting, I was assigned a career counselor, Mr. Rick Hirsch. Over the course of the next several weeks, Mr. Hirsch and I met weekly and went thru their "plan". At first, the course seemed to have value. They deteremine your strengths and weaknesses, as well as give you some interviewing tips. I did find some of it worthwhile, but most was rehash of what I already knew about myself. Mr. Hirsch and I actually got along pretty well. He did give me login information to a supposedly "paid-site" that listed exclusive not-listed positions in specified geographical areas. I used the site for approximately a week or two and discovered the same postings on other job boards. So it was not as exclusive as advertised.

After the research, resume creating and self-searching was done, the next step was a "mock interview". The mock interview was with one of the partner/owners who plays the part of business hiring executive. The interview was to be video-taped for later review, which I found out the camera malfunctioned. I did find some of the interview tips helpful however.

After the mock interview was completed, I never heard from them again. I inquired approx. 2 weeks later and was told that we needed to do the interview again and that the company "was undergoing changes, so it would be awhile before I could reschedule."

I re-inquired about 2 weeks later to find out the phone number was disconnected and that they had basically disappeared. It was then that I knew I had been ripped off! I hardly received $4,000 worth of services and because I did not receive a single interview much less improve my situation, I wasted my time and money.

I think they have a new name now, "Nashville Career Center" to carry on the same scam. Stay away from these guys!
