For the short version:
Travel Life go Direct promised me a $600 free vacation for enrolling in some trial accounts. They already had my bank account routing and account number on file and were ready to charge! I was told all i need to do was pay 1.95 for shipping to get materials and cancel trials within 7 days of recieving to keep the free vacation. I was told the trial was canceled when it was not!

I spent over an hour on the phone calling back to cancel the uncancelled account! I had to call 5 different locations to get all the information i needed to cancel the accounts! The promised vacation consisted of 4 rebates stating that i would have to spend $8000 in tickets to recieve my promised $400 rebate.

For the long Version:
I was called by Sandie Casey, ID 149, of Travel Life go Direct in regard to getting a free vacation including free air fair and hotel $400 and $200. All that i had to do was to enroll in trial programs offered from Lucid long distance cards and florida direct. The vacation was mine to keep upon cancelling the trials. I have seen plenty of these promotions and know that there is always a unknown charge or a charge that will easily occurr if not being careful.

The most disconcerting thing about the phone call was that they already had my bank account information including routing #!! I had a problem once with an unauthorized charge from some we company. After doing some research i found that my account information was taken or given by Fandango when purchaing movie tickets. I simply did not uncheck one of the boxes when purchasing the tickets which signed me up for some other frivilous trial. Anyway, i kicked myself and ate the bill on that one after callilng to cancel the trial. Side note watch out for Fandango too!

Upon receiving the information packets. I proceeded to call to cancel the trial memberships. I called the supplied # and waited on hold only to get another # to wait on hold, after waiting for a long period i was asked for my phone # and my account was verified, then there were options to talk to agents to schedule a vacation......

Finally there was an option to cancel my trial, option 8. There was simply a recording stating that my trial had been cancelled and the phone call was ended. This seemed strange to me that i had not received a confirmation or had a sales pitch to keep the account open. So i called back to talk to someone to verify that account had been closed.

After another run around i got Patty , a very crabby delight with Travel life go Direct. I asked Patty if my account had been canceled, she replied that NO my account had not been canceled!!!! She tried to sell me further on the account and i said NO. Finally she was willing to cancel my trial with Travel Life go Direct. . I was told that the account had not been canceled.

I canceled the account with her and she was about ready to let me go. I had to ask her if this cancelled all other trial accounts. She reluctantly told me that it only did the one account. I had to ask if I had to cancel the other accounts all separately. I had to ask for the phone numbers to get the accounts to cancel them. I cant imagine how mad I would have been if had trusted the first response that I had been told that my trials had been canceled and then been charged for all of them!

By the way the airfaire money that i received were a 4 rebates stating that i could save up to $100. That is i had to buy a $2000 ticket to get a rebate for $100!! So for $8000 of tickets i could theoretically get my promised $400 in airfair. I didnt even bother to read the fine print on the promised accomidations, but another article that i have read states taht there is a $149 processing fee.
