I bought a vehicle from a private dealership and he said my loan was going to be thru UACC for 3 years. On the 3rd year of paying on time I asked UACC for my balance and they said my loan is a 5 year loan. Shortly after, I had run into some financial hardship and I was told over the phone that there is no grace period and that I would have to pay my payment on time by the end of the day or they would repo my car. Sure enough I would pay the payment at the office by the end of the day, but not before they called all my family members that I had as references including my job. They would tell everyone that I don't pay my bills on time and they were going to repo my car. How unprofessional is that? Is that even legal? My parents said they would call them up to 5 times a day. Finally I told UACC to stop harassing my family because they were getting the payment on time anyway. A few months later UACC let me pay $25 extra for an extension because my payment was going to be late. The following month I asked for only 1 more extension and UACC said that they didn't have to help me anymore and that they were going to repo my car. But before the UACC representative got off the phone, she told me that I needed to explain to her what I spend my money on and that it's pretty said that I have a job and can't even pay my bills. She went as far as telling me that I was an idiot that didn't know how to manage his money. At that point I told her to go pick up the car and that I didn't want anything to do with them. I was so upset of being treated crappy by them and harassing my family that I hung up on that person. For 1 week straight everyday UACC kept calling me telling me that they were taking the car and they didn't pick it up for 2 weeks. I left it in the same spot for 2 weeks before they picked it up. Now they sent someone to my parents house at 5am to deliver a letter saying that they were suing me for $2500. For what? I paid for almost 3 years on time except for 2 times and my car got repossessed. All I know is that they are NOT going to get anymore money from me and if things don't go my way in court, then I'm going to sue them for harassment, unprofesionalism and defamation.
